    Undiagnosed but high blood sugar

as you're underweight & have been fasting for quite some time now i'm not surprised you feel faint ! try not to worry about a coma - you'd have to be showing quite full-on signs of problems for that to happen I reckon, though i'm not a doctor of course.

thanks again folks. It'll take me a couple of weeks to get another appointment at my doc - or rather to dare to ask for one ! I think he was a bit fed up with me last time. I'll then see if he'll agree to give me some more blood tests. I actually can't remember when I had them done most recently...

well, as i'm not a big green veg fan perhaps I should start taking a supplement ? Anyone got any suggestions for what I should look out for when choosing from the various brands / strengths etc ? Actually while i'm on that, its also been suggested that I take omega 3 (as I don't eat oily fish)...

well, I have to admit I didn't go through each one & look up online whether its better to have a high or low level with each - I kind of thought my doctor would know that & spot anything worth mentioning !

not really - but as i'm not a doctor I wouldn't know how near to the reference limit is 'near' if you see what I mean.

i'm self employed & I have done lots of research on the chemicals involved. They aren't nice ! & can cause various things inc. PN - though my exposure has been small. Problem is there is no way to diagnose anything as being caused by them unless as a result of sudden, major exposure (industrial...

yes - the normal ranges are on my sheets also & i've mentioned any that were above or below normal. As for being near the top of the normal range for diabetes - again, my doctor didn't see any reason for concern there, but I certainly do as of course I want to decrease my risk of developing it.

thanks for all the replies - especially as i'm not currently (hopefully) diabetic ! In terms of my diet nothing changed there so whilst i'm sure as we age some aspects of the effect of ones diet change i'm more inclined to think there is another cause of what's been happening to me. Looking...

thanks Sue. I have been back to my gp with that kind of attitude - for the past 2 years. I've been told 'there's nothing wrong with you' or similar & i've had to say 'there **** well is !'. As for my diet - as I said its not a particularly unhealthy one - I just don't eat some of the regular...

Hi, it says 'equivalent to 10 micrograms of Vit D'. The Icelandic doctor highlighted a couple of results that were not in what they consider normal range but told me that it could be different in the UK & indeed it was. What they consider out of normal range in the uk isn't. My diet - I don't...

thanks - I might post some info from my test sheets here to see what folks think. For now i'll tell you a story about tests. I live in the Uk & after months of asking for tests, waiting weeks for a liver scan & then several weeks for the results & then only getting a formal 'your results appear...

    puzzled !

well, its tricky to know what my doctor has looked at with the various blood tests - I have the sheets from them but after each one he's just said that he couldn't see anything wrong, except the b12 & Vit D levels. The specialist for Fibro / ME did more tests but he discharged me as he didn't...

Hi, yes - I forget to say that I am getting B12 injections & a couple of months ago my doc also spotted my Vit D levels were low so prescribed some chewable tablets. i'm not on any other medication - I was prescribed antidepressants as all of this + a car collision in march has got me down a...

ah, ok - I got confused with the web conversion tools ! thanks ! as I mentioned i've only had one fasting test back in 2014 & since then have had several full blood tests (not finger prick ones). I've looked through all the result sheets from those & the only one I can find that has the...
