    New to Tresiba - Flexibility?

@In Response Thank you for your advice. Yeah the cannulas kept bending and not delivering the insulin properly. I tried the steel ones but they also gave me problems. They hurt and I woke up one morning bleeding from the cannula site. I also found it really cumbersome to wear and it sort of...

    New to Tresiba - Flexibility?

Thanks. I've tried a pump in the past (medtronic) but had terrible problems with cannulas and found it difficult to wear.

    New to Tresiba - Flexibility?

I was constantly going hypo after about two days of using it, so I have reduced it. Now I'm still going quite low late morning. Then I always used to spike about 4pm, however, I found I was also crashing then, too, since using Tresiba. I've reduced my lunch bolus, but the past two days I've...

    New to Tresiba - Flexibility?

Well, 8 days in and I'm still spiking pretty much the same times of day as I did with Levemir andthen just chasing hypos the rest of the time

    New to Tresiba - Flexibility?

Thanks, yeah, it appears that increasing the basal isn't an option now for the instances were I would normally need it increased. I've been taking it between 9-10AM but want to try and move it to the evening as my BG tends to spike as soon as I wake up.

    New to Tresiba - Flexibility?

So, I started Tresiba (previously on a split dose of Levemir for years) four days ago. I was switched by my consultant and prescription was done by the DSN. Basically, the consultant said it was a better, much flatter insulin that can last for up to 42hrs and the DSN told me to take 20% less...

Type 1 Anyone suffer with recurring constipation?

I know. Its weird, isn't it?

Type 1 Anyone suffer with recurring constipation?

Ah yes, read all the bog standard advice. I think it's not too unusual to become conditioned to remedies or foods that normally worked. If someone suddenly incorporated fruit and veg into a diet that was sorely lacking, they would initially get loose stools until they acclimatised. Or, the way...

Type 1 Anyone suffer with recurring constipation?

Hi, no medications other than insulin. I drink plenty of water, fruit and herbal teas. Nothing that would stand out as being an obvious cause.

Type 1 Anyone suffer with recurring constipation?

I started to incorporate a 30 minute daily walk into my routine since the new year on top of basic yoga stretches, but it hasn't had an impact. I have recently started to take magnesium, however, that was due to it being recommended for women of a peri-menopausal age. I take a combination of...

Type 1 Anyone suffer with recurring constipation?

Not a great deal of fat generally. I don't make a conscious decision to exclude fat. It would mainly just come from the butter I put on my toast each day and ground nuts in porridge. Oh, and I do have brie quite often with my lunch. So, not sure really.

Type 1 Anyone suffer with recurring constipation?

Hi, can anyone answer me this? I've been suffering with mild/moderate constipation for about 2yrs. I already had a decent diet with plenty of nuts, seeds, grains, water, fruit, veg, etc. None of these foods have an effect on my BM's anymore. Probiotics worked for a limited time. Lactulose...

    Peri-menopause and blood glucose

I've noticed I'm becoming more insulin resistant prior to my period. I know this to be normal, I think they associate it with increased progesterone, but whereas it would happen just 2-3 days prior it can now be up to two weeks that my BG acts all high and crazy.

Prediabetes Does perimenopause or menopause increase insulin resistance?

I would say yes, definitley. We usually become insulin resistant prior to a period and it makes sense that peri will have a big impact on our BG. I used to get a significant BG increase just a few days prior to a period, it's now more like 2 weeks! I'm 45.

    Freestyle libre 2 problems

I'm on Samsung and starting to have the exact same problems with the alarms not working after initially working perfectly well when I got my Libre 2 six months ago. Strangely, it works through the night but through the day, I'm never alerted anymore.
