    stir fry sauces

I am probably posting this in the wrong place, but having used sugar free Ribena in cooking since my husband became diabetic, it suddenly occurred to me this morning to try cooking some of the gooseberries out of the garden in sugar free Ribena. Great result! It tasted delicious! That's...

    stir fry sauces

If you want a bit of sweetness in your stir fry (after all, most Chinese food is quite sweet), try adding a small amount of sugar free Ribena or Tescos double concentrated Lime squash to the food. Being fruity, it gives it a nice taste. I also add one of these to my curries.

Just hold on there, fat is now bad again....

Thanks for your advice. I shan't use rapeseed oil now. Will stick with lard or butter if I need high temperature. I never fry my own chips so will only need to use a very small amount of lard occasionally for, say, a steak. Thanks again.

Just hold on there, fat is now bad again....

I'm very happy to eat olive oil as I believe it is healthy. However, I watched a programme that said you shouldn't cook with it. So do I cook with rapeseed oil as they suggested or lard? Any advice? Thanks.

    Thank you

Thanks for your kind comments. Michael has just had a call from his DN to say that he is now considered to be pre-diabetic. Apparently, even though his readings are in the non-diabetic range, he will still be classed as pre-diabetic and called for an annual review, rather than 6 months or...

    Thank you

I am writing to thank you all for the help you have given me over the last 6 months. My husband, Michael, was diagnosed with type 2 at the beginning of Oct. last year. He had no idea he had diabetes until he went to the optician for routine eye check, when it was found that he had blood...
