    Protein shakes

Thanks folks, I was looking at Holland and Barrett at some whey protein. Does anyone know if the penny sale applies to different flavours of the same product?

    Protein shakes

In my quest for a quick and easy breakfast I was looking at protein shakes. Are they good for low carb diet, if so which is best/worst? Am I best making my own and if so what protein powder is best? And where can I get it from?

    Sitagliptine and low carb

Thank you folks, I feel much better now. Yes he did used to have spikes but they have all levelled out now so they are working. We will continue to monitor them though for the reason that we need to know if the diet is working properly. So far so good! :)

    Sitagliptine and low carb

We've just started low carbing and it seems to be working a treat but nurse has just put hubby on some new meds and we're worried that if we low carb at the same time he might go too far and have a hypo. The nurse doesn't seem worried but wondered if you lovely lot might know anything about...

Know what you mean about berries. The problem we have is that we have to eat them all the day we buy them as we have a very small fridge because we live on a narrowboat so we have loads of berries every Wednesday, when we do the shopping and nothing throughout the week. I thought about buying...

Unfortunately we have to be up really early in the morning and we currently have our son sleeping in the open plan living room/kitchen so any amount of cooking is out, even the microwave. But it sounds lovely for my days off, thanks.

ExD I'm with you with the fear of fat, I've downloaded a so called carb counting app but its not very good as it still concentrated on counting calories and he, and I, can't help worrying about his fat intake. Mainly because he has family history of heart problems. I'll have a look at the sticky...

We ran out of eggs lol we basically had to live on frittata and omlettes! I need some inspiration as I'm not a very good cook! I need some good easy recipes to ring the changes as we got a bit bored and slipped back. But as I'm worried about his maculopathy, we need to sort it out and do it...

Thank you folks, we'll do that. It's so complicated isn't it. Need to find a good low carb recipe book too. What do you do for breakfasts? Don't have time to cook most days so need some ideas that don't involve cereals.

    Newbie with lots of questions

Hi I'm the wife of a type 2 diabetic who has just been found to have a very slight level of maculopathy. We've been told that if he can control his sugars it will probably go away by itself. But that's the crux of the problem. A few weeks ago we tried him on a low carb diet of about 30g a day...

    Life Insurance

We're looking into life insurance and we think we can afford working on the quotes we've had so far but so far no one has asked us about diabetes. When we apply, is it likely to hike up the price when they know that hubby is diabetic. If so who do people recommend for the best, reasonably...
