    Coeliac

Yeah. I have been eating gluten. Made the mistake last night of eating three wheatabix in one go. Started throwing up. My doctor said to reintroduce it slowly. I can feel the brain fog, you know? And tiredness. Headache. Stomach pains. I hope it doesn't take too long to sort it all out.

    Coeliac

I spoke to the doctor on the phone today. They have 'strong clinical suspicion' of coeliac based on a blood test but because I stopped eating gluten she wants me back eating gluten for 6 weeks, then she will do another blood test. I'm tempted to go private for diagnosis to be honest.

    Sudden rise

Thanks guys. Noble head, that makes sense. I had been fighting lows all day (with the heat). Unfortunately I don't yet have any ketone stripes. Never been given any. It's something I will be talking to my nurse with

    Sudden rise

My sugars have been under control all day. In fact, they've sometimes gone a little low (in the 4s). I was really proud of myself, thinking I might actually have a near perfect day. I haven't had a reading higher than 7.4, nor a reading lower than 3.9. I felt a bit ill at dinner ( the 3.9...

    Morning carb to insulin ratio

I eat porridge in the winter, but to be honest it's too hot for the summer. I've not been having breakfast as I don't really like eating that time, but I'm trying to. I'm going to be honest and say I know I won't do anything that requires any preparation. I don't have a great deal of time in the...

How do you feel when high?

I use diabetik app. It does a very similar thing. I am useless at recording everything in a log book on paper, but I always have my phone on me and it's easy.

Does type 1 happen with obesity?

Well said Some type 2s are linked to obesity, but that doesn't mean they all are. My type one is to do with some disease I had as a child (not sure what it was). No one in my family has type one diabetes.

    Morning carb to insulin ratio

Immediately before because that's what I was told to do, as it's novo rapid. For some foods (like if I have pizza or something else fatty) I actually have to inject after or else I go hypo. So the insulin normally works well. I test all the time (about 10 times a day at the moment) because I...

    Morning carb to insulin ratio

For the last few weeks I've been going high throughout the day, even when not eating. So that's why I changed the background. I did correct mid morning. Am I not supposed to so that? I seem to always be correcting, so I don't think my carb to Insulin is correct at all

    Morning carb to insulin ratio

Hi. Yes novo, I do it differently to you. I work in one unit per grams of carbs, rather than units per 10 grams of carbs. I don't think it matters as long as it's consistent. Today I'm now going low, but I think that might be the hot weather (and I did correct the high). By high I mean about...

    DIABETE-EZY

As promised dani, a review. It turned up today. I took a picture of it on my phone but don't know how to upload it. I got the smaller case. It was bigger than I expected. But I like it. I have a packet of skittles in case of hypo on the back pocket, I put spare insulin cartridges where the pen...

    Morning carb to insulin ratio

Hi. I've sorted my morning sugars. Wake up with nice 5s and 6s. But my mid morning sugars are always so high. I am normally on carb to insulin ratio 9:1, and in the mornings I tried 7:1, but I'm obviously still not having enough insulin in the morning. I just wondered if you have a different...

Hi, New member ----- a long time diabetic

Hello and welcome. You think 7-9 is quite high? Oh how I would wish for your readings. I'm on multiple injections (novorapid and levimer). My sugars fluctuate, and no matter how hard I try, I still have highs. And lows. Anyway, I don't have much to offer, as I have the same problems in the...

    How dangerous are Hypos ?

Michelle. I know exactly how you feel with not getting support. Since my diabetic nurse left, I've not had any decent nurses, and the advice given tends to conflict what I've been told before. But that book I recommended has taught me loads...
