    Anything other than Statins?

I've been given every statin known to my Dr & when I take them within days I'm in agony in every muscle of the body. It starts in my legs & works it way around my body. The Dr has offered me an RNA jab for cholesterol instead. What happens if I have the same reaction? It's not like I can undo...

I'm in one heck of a confused state.

Problem solved! Thanks for all the advice & replies guys. It turned out I am a complete numpty. I bought some sugar free gum to help with my expected sugar cravings & it turns out it contains a sweetener called maltitol. It didn't list it on the packets it just listed sweeteners. I found the...

I'm in one heck of a confused state.

Wow, thanks for the effort you put into this reply. You've also educated me a lot & I didn't know about the average level from the Hbac test either. My diagnoses consisted of my Dr taking a fasting blood sugar in her office as it was 9. I will look into your other advice too, thank you very...

I'm in one heck of a confused state.

Thank You for the reply. I will try what you suggest to see if it makes a difference. I was starting to think, maybe it's because i've stored that many carbs throughout my body that I haven't used them all up yet. I'm a big bloke at 6'4" even though I've lost a lot of my old weight. I'm still...

I'm in one heck of a confused state.

Thanks for the reply. I'm just eating meat & green cabbage to keep things simple in an attempt to make it easier to follow to begin with.

I'm in one heck of a confused state.

I was diagnosed type two over 23years ago & started on diet, exercise & metformin. 10 years ago I was put on insulin, humalog 25 mix in the morning & humalog 50 mix in the evening. Two weeks ago I was told to increase my insulin to 38 units a day of both of the above with a HBac of 7.5. I...

I'm beggining to think I may have the wrong diagnosis.

Thank You I will look into that too. I remember when google used to be useful. All you get is adverts these days & unconnected waffle. That will save me a lot of work.

No worries Friend I'm a bit of a hypochondriac & always check out advice even from my Dr. :D But I do think you have given me a very good path to go down.

You could be onto something. I have frequent unexplained nose bleeds & bouts of low blood pressure to the point of feeling faint.

I'm beggining to think I may have the wrong diagnosis.

My Dr is always worried about cost these days which is understandable. He told be which one to buy & said he used it himself. If I remember it is 1000 units. It was £15 for a 6 month supply. He told me to double the does for 6 months & he will test me again. Apparently he said Vit D was made...

Quite the contrary you have been very helpful. Thank You. I'd not even heard of K2 so I will look into that. I keep getting cravings for peanuts funny enough & have heard that they contain Vit K. Not sure about K2. Once again thank you for your time and effort. Regards Tony.

I'm beggining to think I may have the wrong diagnosis.

I had 3 thyroid tests as the first came back low? The second 2 were normal. My Dr told me to take vitamin D supplements recently (2 weeks ago) as I was very low. I was also advised to take a vit B supplement as that was on the low side but not as low as D.

No I'm 6ft 4". Maybe it was 42 that rings a bell somewhere. It's ages since I was measured to be honest.

I'm beggining to think I may have the wrong diagnosis.

I started losing weight when I was first diagnosed in 2002. At the moment I am 39% but this can rise to low 40's. My bmi is apparently 38 but even my nurse shakes her head at this figure. I now have a 40 inch waist at 22 stone.

Yes I lost about 7 stone from my heaviest but seem to be stuck now. I dieted & exercised to try & lose my bulk but I've been steady for 3 years. I have one of those fat reading scales. which says I am 28% fat.

Thank You for your interesting reply. I think you could be right about the liver. The less I eat the higher my blood sugars seem to be. I'm beginning to think the receptors which control insulin think in my case 11mmol is 5.6mmol. In other words my body believes my sugar levels are normal...
