What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

The pigs are lifelong guests. Due to pig-keeping regulations, once arrived at a property as piglets, they cannot be moved anywhere, except to the abattoir. Their task is to get the garden under control and, at the end of the day, to provide food for the family - regulations (again) mean that...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

9.5 at 01.55 today. I got to bed about 24.30 but didn't last long there. Rest of the night, to about 05.30 in the big chair. Knees playing up - just as well I am using 2 sticks to get around now, or I'd go over. Can't decide whether I'm hot or cold today. I keep taking off my big jumper...

Breakfast was ham and cheese rollups and some tea. 2nd meal will be similar to @jpscloud - beef mince with vegetables. I have a butternut squash but probably shan't use it - enough veg (carrot, onion, swede, celery, garlic) in the stew, I should think. Leek soup is made with some frozen...

It’s frustrating when you take the time to be clear, only for someone on the other end to misunderstand/misinterpret something so straightforward.@gennepher So sorry to hear of more frustration for you Gennepher. It all just shows how tough you have to be to cope with uncaring carers and...

i was intending to make a Christmas cake today - I don't make them early because I don't use alcohol - and I have the ingredients ready to go, but Neil found some really big leeks in the fridge in the back porch which need attention so, instead the energy will all be used making leek soup and...

Chaffles for breakfast. Tea. 2nd meal will be fish fingers and salad. Finally managed to get into the "My Diabetes" site to see my Lab results. Mostly just about what I expected - apart from the kidney results, which were worse than I had hoped for - not that the Health Centre seems to be...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

4.5 at 04.00 today. Finally got access to my account with "My Diabetes" to get my latest results - GPs aren't keen on sharing results with me, so now, at last, I can see them. Some results there I'm not too keen on, but mostly things are not much worse than they have been. Wet and windy still...

18C is balmy up here in the far north, Ian. There are years when temperature doesn't get above 15 or 16C here. At 18C I can even go outside without a big jumper or jacket. Doesn't happen very often.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

7.9 at 02.55 today. Still in the 7's by my 2nd awakening at 06.00. Legs bandaging day today. Drizzle and a bit breezy but not too bad. Cold though. The storm is just arriving here at the moment - heavy rain and wind building now. It's been dark all day. House feeling cold despite heating...

For breakfast I made some kind of chaffle pancakes and made a fried egg sandwich with 2 of them. Water instead of tea - for speed because I had to go out to get my legs bandaged. 2nd meal will be avocado salad - perhaps with another chaffle pancake.

I used to keep my cards in a stainless steel holder for visitor's cards which fitted inside my purse. However, I got rid of my big shoulder bag because it got in the way when in the wheelchair so had to get a small purse to fit in. Luckily I did manage to get one which does the same job and it...

Breakfast was 2 eggs scrambled with slices of tomato with cheese melted over them. Tea. 2nd meal is going to be just sausages - no veg to give my system a rest.

Just got in touch with the bladder and bowel community to see if they have any advice to offer in the absence of any way to consult a GP or continence nurse. They might be able to point me in a direction I haven't thought of so far.

I'm hungry today but am having to think about breakfast. I've been relying rather too much on the fairly low carb, mixed seed crackers recently and I'm beginning to think that, once again, they are upsetting my inner equilibrium. Trouble is, they are there and I am sore so just want to reach...

Thanks for the hugs, Gennepher. Not the end of the world though and absolutely nothing compared to the difficulties you face daily. 6.2 at 04.00 today. Feeling very hungry this morning but am making do with tea for the moment. I'm going to have to give breakfast some thought. Because it's...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

I might have known. Got to the dentist (a bit fraught - the car didn't want to start this morning and then the passenger door wouldn't shut) but got there just in time, only to be told that the new plate still hadn't come back from the mainland. Neil left the engine running in case it wouldn't...
