    Change in taste of water

I can't read what you said, except for the water taste thing. When I am high I LOVE the fridge water and HATE the water cooler at work.

Ever just want to give up??

@Kristin251. Insulin is my choice, and I want to do it. Just so hard getting a diabetic doc here. I have a month to wait. I can feel the highs destroying me, both mood and body. I'm sure once I am on something that might help I know it will be better and I will feel better. Do you know why it...

Ever just want to give up??

I'm tired of it. Was well controlled, then got a jacked up lot of generic metformin and I am now very high in mornings. For all you non mmol's out there, I wake up now with very high 200's to low 300's. High for the day has been 439. Insurance is a big f****all for letting me have what might...

    Metformin v. Insulin

thanks for the reply. i dont really dictate, i merely say that i need a higher or lower dose. now that i am under control its really not an issue. i dont think met is a daytime drug, i was not aware of the good things it does as you mentioned. thanks again :)

    Metformin v. Insulin

Thanks for the reply. i guess my comment that i get what i want from my doc was a bit vague. i only meant that if i need a different dosage of met, she will let me do that as i am well controlled, i honestly do not think she is a good diabetic gp, but where i live it is near impossible to get...

    Metformin v. Insulin

Hi. I haven't posted for awhile but have a question. Is insulin better on liver and kidneys than metformin? I am thinking of making the change and have an appt with my doc next week. I have been pretty much self medicating with this new doc and she has no issues giving me what I want. I would...

Type 2 and doc wants me higher than I like

no, i dont think prozac is generally prescribed for lowering levels. after reading somewhere that diabetics get prescribed prozac for depression and one of the good side effects is that it lowers bg levels. i finally have a doc that will listen to me, and when i said i wanted to try it with...

Type 2 and doc wants me higher than I like

Hi all. been away for awhile, but finally got into the open door clinic here. i told her i would like to try prozac to bring down my bs, and she actually let me do it. 3 days after i started the prozac, i dropped from 8.3 after i wake up to 6.8 and levels during the day are 4.9 through 7.. i...

    Metformin - Side effects???

did your metformin manufacturer change? when the pharm changed its mfg, it messed me up real bad. glucose sky rocketed so i had weight loss, always peeing again, smelly pee, etc. the same symptoms i had before i was diagnosed. i changed to a different mfg and things are starting to sort them...

Type 2 and doc wants me higher than I like

@numan43 dont be confused, I have learned with this doc, I need to do my own research and do what I need to be below what she says. Keep off the chips, carbs, etc. the more good fat and less carbs is great for me anyway. At least here in US, doctors are all in big pharm and insurance pockets...

Type 2 and doc wants me higher than I like

Thank you all for your replies. Again, apologies for sounding so negative and bitter earlier on in post. I am working getting in to open door clinic, they have an amazing (from what I have heard) PA there that is excellent with diabetes peeps, again from what I have heard. They are only...

Type 2 and doc wants me higher than I like

@TorqPenderloin thanks for the reply. Once I was down to normal levels she told me to come up to higher levels and when I questioned that she said 'research states...people who have diabetes should be at 140 (sorry, didn't use converter) to prevent heart disease. I was already, with diet and...

Type 2 and doc wants me higher than I like

@Prem51 well, she might be good at gp, but I don't go to doc unless I need to, and I consider a possibility of losing limbs, eyesight, etc is a need to sitch. Where I live, in northwest California, docs are hard to come by so I am stuck with her for the minute. There are other gps at practice...

What about Prozac for reducing glucose level, foot pain and just overall depression or stress? I asked about that and was given the stanard NO

Type 2 and doc wants me higher than I like

@AndBreathe she did not say, hence my apprehension to her knowledge of diabetes, like I said, she is 12. I have had to do all my own research on what I should be doing or trying. I want a doc with experience and one who starts out a sentence as 'I have found...' As opposed to 'research says...'...
