Did you use your Tesco Clubcard? If so, that would account for the additional 50% reduction.

B: Zero, as had to drive No.2 son to take his driving theory test (he failed, but is being stoical about it). L: FF Greek yoghurt, raspberries, nuts, seeds, etc D: On account of the weather (hot), dragged the barbecue out of the shed as treat for Mrs C and No.2 son. Had 1.5 lamb koftas with...

I've tried them in the past, and they had a similar effect on me. They are seriously weird, and I've given them a wide berth ever since. The company that makes them (Storck) are also responsible for Toffifee, whose TV adverts are serious candidates for the worst adverts ever made.

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Yesterday had usual breakfast at noon - small bowl of yoghurt, berries, seeds, nuts, then helped no.1 son move the last of his stuff from student accommodation to his new flat in Liverpool. No.2 son came along for the ride as he had nothing better to do. Afterwards, the weather being...

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Yes, that was what EG tea used to taste like to me, too. I'm sure it's my tastebuds that have changed rather than the tea, so perhaps it's more to do with the ageing process rather than the change in eating habits? I'll post if I suddenly start to develop a hankering for Werther's Originals...

Also, if we're talking things we didn't eat before but do now: - chocolate with 75% or more cocoa solids - linseed mix (I only ever used linseed oil to protect my guitar fretboard) - yoghurt (hated the taste of it) - kale (thought it was only used for cattle feed) - nuts (other than salted...

Hi DJC3 - yes, I take milk in both. Have tried both without in an attempt to minimise the lactose carbs, and found the Earl Grey more palatable, but eventually went back to the white stuff. Just a natural born sinner, I guess. I've always loved chicken skin, and you're right - the crispier the...

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Lots of pet horror stories here, but at least we should be thankful that - given the title of this forum - nobody appears to have given in to their hunger and actually eaten their animal companion, so that's a plus. Seriously, though, hope everything turns out well for your pets, DJC3 and...

    Prediabetic.

Hi David, For what it's worth, here's my experience. I was diagnosed as Pre-D in 2016. GP told me I'd need to go on statins in near future. I decided instead to read Michael Mosley's 'The 8-Week Blood Sugar Diet' (which I note others have suggested above). If you can't find the book, here's...

Feeling really fed up and struggling

I was diagnosed pre-D in Jan this year (which was a shock - I thought I had gout), so went out and bought Michael Mosley's book 'The 8-week Blood Sugar Diet'. I'd never dieted before, so had nothing to compare it against. I followed it pretty rigorously for a couple of months and lost 2 stone...

    3 month Blood Test

Had results from a follow-up blood test today, following diagnosis of prediabetes last Jan. I keep track of them in a simple homemade table, as below: TC was slightly up, but as even the GP admitted that it doesn't really tell you anything, I'm not concerned. Happy that the key markers are...

    Slimming world

If it helps to be with others in the same boat, then go for it - peer pressure is a useful mechanism for bringing about changes in behaviour. Having said that, changing your eating habits doesn't have to be difficult as long as you're eating enough to feel full. I have a friend whose mum went...
