Fasting blood sugar this morning is 6.2

Everybody is different. Don’t take any notice of the ‘what was your fasting glucose’ thread on here. It’s not a competition. Ask your health professional for advice as they are the only one with your medical history/stats in front of them and the only people qualified to give you an answer.

Just started on the Newcastle Diet - anyone else?

Thank you! my starting weight was 20s 13 and is now 19s.10.5. My FBG was 21, and it has steadily fallen every day and this morning it was 9.9! I was on BP tabs anyway, my GP is monitoring it, and if it falls too low, will review medication. I have three shakes a day, and then I have a plate of...

Just started on the Newcastle Diet - anyone else?

Hi there! I have just started the Newcastle diet after getting approval from my GP and Optifast on Prescription. Anybody else? Freestyle libre

£50 a month is way too much for something so inaccurate.

    Abbott libre continuous monitor

They are way too inaccurate to be worth the money. My sensor has been reading 17/18 all day, yet my accu check is recording 12-13. It is typically 4-5 points above actual blood sugar levels, and that is making allowance for 15 minute delay. I heard a rumour that they may be dropping the price...

Arm hurting under FreeStyle Libre sensor

It's not a wire, but a very flexible fibre. What may have happened is that some tiny hairs have grown on your arm a millimetre or so long. (We all have them, growing from our 'goosebumps'!) and even if they are remotely attached to the adhesive they would pinch dreadfully.

Ready to take control after 3 1/2 years with Type 2

Diaconnect is good. Tells you what your hba1c will be, based on putting readings in, and it is very accurate. You can also produce graphs and charts, and send them to yourself or anyone else in an email format.

How long does it take for the numbers to come down?

Took me 2/3 months to get numbers from 16/17 down to the 7's. And that was with intermittent fasting. No insulin.

    Anyone craving a 'bread' texture?

Here is the recipe, as a photo thumbnail. They are not as soft as burger buns, more of a dense texture. Fab with butter/marmite etc
