Re: VICTOZA My understanding is that it is not unusual for a drop to be left on the end of the needle after withdrawal and this too happens to me. However, if it is more than this, then it would be wise to check with a diabetic nurse as it may be a faulty pen and/or needle.

Re: VICTOZA Yes, that happened to me too and my portion sizes have dramatically reduced. Now I just go with it and eat small amounts, otherwise I feel nauseous.

Re: VICTOZA No, I'm Type 2 and oral medication wasn't bringing my blood sugar levels down low enough. I was seen by a consultant at my local hospital who suggested changing to insulin, but the diabetic nurse disagreed and said I should try Victoza. I'm so glad I did because I don't think I...

Almost halved the HbA1c!! This is my first HbA1c since starting with Victoza in June. Then it was 11.7, now it's 6.2! Admittedly I am low carbing as well but feel wonderful! Energy levels are up and on occasion my BG level has been 5! I have lost a shed load of weight (around 2 stone) and my DB...

Re: VICTOZA Just coming to the end of week two on Victoza with first week of increased dose at 1.2mg. I have lost some weight but I have been really careful about what I am eating (almost low-carbing) with reduced portion sizes and stopping when I feel I've had enough. I've found that if I even...

    Hi from Scotland!

No worries Dorsetlad...it keeps "hi from Scotland" bumped up the chain  I have only recently started testing and that is because I was given a Contour meter from my diabetic nurse. I thinks it depends where you are in the UK. Luckily, in my neck of the woods, they appear to be seeing the...

    Hi from Scotland!

Hi Dorsetlad I know how you feel re the information overload :( What confuses me more is the controversy over whether to reduce carbs or not. My dietician says keep eating carbs but everywhere else the evidence suggests reduction is better. Add Victoza to the mix, and it becomes even more...

    Hi from Scotland!

Hi Synonym, it's good that you're where you are. I didn't pay much attention if truth be told to watching what I eat, exercise, etc. when on oral meds. Perhaps this would have made a difference. I felt a bit cheated in terms of the genetics - it seems to run in my family on my mother's side so...

    Hi from Scotland!

Hi synonym, well my level was around 11.9% and not reducing with oral meds. The options were Victoza or insulin. The consultant would have preferred insulin as he thought my levels were too high for Victoza but my nurse disagreed and thought I should try it. I am being closely monitored but...

    Hi from Scotland!

Hi to you all. I've just registered on this forum. I have type 2 (around 3 years) and up until recently was only on oral meds (Metformin, Pioglitazone). Just started Victoza this week and so far so good. I have a fantastic support team including GP, nurse, dietician, podiatrist, etc. and got...
