    Ready to quit pump use

I am in the same boat. I had a 3 week spell of better readings, after switching to straight sets and moving much further down from hip area to bum. However, today has been horrendous. I have done half a dozen set changes, none are taking and it is almost unbelievable how down i become when highs...

    Counselling and Diabetes?

This is something that is of REAL personal interest to me! Along with having had T1 diabetes for 12 years now, two years ago i was diagnosed with anorexia and have since then been trying to recover (currently on round 2 after a recent relapse). While for me i never struggled with diabulimia...

Hi everyone! Gosh i haven't posted in a while. i am coming in a time of slight desperation - although after writing this my perfectionistic and maybe slightly paranoid side will probably be exposed. a little overview. I have been a pumper since the age of 11, and in the last few years have...

hi i'm sophie and have been a type 1 diabetic for eight years now. I'm 16 in September, and for most of my 'diabetic' life i've felt fine. Just recently though i've started to see how it's beginning to affect my life, and would just quite like people to talk to who are in a similar situation to...

    Infusion set help

hey :) I'm not on the insulin pump you are referring to; I use the medtronic minimed. However, I completely understand the feeling of being nervous. From personal experience, I prefer the sets where the tube is not at an angle. The quick-set, where the tube goes straight in - I barely feel it...

    Type 1 diabetes: advice please

Thanks so much :) yeah I've been keeping a diary for about a year now and at times it has helped a lot; I think I've just reached the point where it's all starting to catch up with me a bit. I also totally understand the feeling of wanting to work really hard and do well; I always feel as though...

    Type 1 diabetes: advice please

Hi :) I've been a type 1 diabetic for 8 years, since I was seven (I turn 16 in two months). My control is quite good, and I do try and manage my diabetes well. One of the things that has just started to affect me lately is the whole 'you have it for life' thing. When I was first diagnosed, the...
