    Medtronic 780g V Tandem tslim X2?

Thanks, It has a lot of good points. the only thing that puts me off, as im a lowcarber i try stay at 5mmol, and the t:slim looks to allow you to go between 3.9mmol & 10mmol, which is too high for me. And its excercise mode is 7.8-8.9 which is much higher than i want to be when out running. its...

    Medtronic 780g V Tandem tslim X2?

I am in a similar boat though as my medtronic 640 is out of warranty, so for me its the newer medtronic, the t:slim or the ypsopump. I like the t:slim, but its the old x2 model i have been offered & I believe for the past 2 years they have been saying the x3 is due out soon, but as yet no date...

    Medtronic 780g V Tandem tslim X2?

I wouldnt go with medtronic if i were you. Their pumps nowadays seem to be poorer quality. I have had 3 medtronic pumps develop unexplained cracks. I havent dropped the pumps, the cracks just appeared. My pump is in a silicoln case & when its not its in a running belt. My pump is now sadly out...

What pumps are available to you in your NHS area?

Hi, I have only ever used the ACCU-CHEK Insight but my pump is up for renewal. BUT now i use a Libre the pump isnt any use as it doesnt allow you to manually enter a bg reading. So I think I will have to swap to the medtronic 640g because that one does. I have sent accu-chek email after email...

    non intrusive blood testing

I'd love if it were true, although I then think that as all these companies are charging the NHS £30 per box of test strips & loads of money for the lancets, then its not going to happen because whats in it for them? It would be like shooting the golden goose

    How accurate is your meter?

I was once told by a bloke in the lifescan development team that it aslo depends on how you get the blood. Apparently if you have to squeeze your finger hard to get a drop of blood out he reckons skin cells get mixed in with the blood, which dilutes the sample & gives a lower reading. I think...

Best ID for an 8 year old boy

Thanks Sid, I too thought 8 year old boys would love a dog tag, although according to my kids there so "un cool". Its just shows you how things change. I'd have loved one as a kid. We are both favoring the one from MEDIBAND, who are an Australian company. He likes the look of it. I like it...

    doctors and diabetes

My Doctors surgery has just has a re-vamp, they say for the patients benefit & to help improve service. The result is less doctors & loads of 'Practice Managers' one of whom has told my newly diagnosed 8 year old Type 1 boy we're doing his blood far too often (5 times a day at the mo) & has...
