    Prediabetes Confused by the results

I live in the Caribbean where AIC levels are expressed as 5%, 7%, etc. Glucose levels are expressed as 126 mg/dl or 7 mmol/L . Can anyone explain to me what is meant when a member says his AIC was 54, or 42? There seems to be another system of which I am unaware. Thanks.

    Testosterone and blood sugars

I believe that, since being sick can cause blood glucose to rise, it may also follow that low testosterone, might also do that? So that testosterone replacement might tend to improve glucose numbers?

So that's what chocolate tastes like.

Since starting low carb some months ago, I have not had any cravings, can take it or leave it. Used to binge on Cadbury's with the soft fillings...not good, then Dove, reported to be healthier.

What was your Hba1c when you were put on metformin?

I notice that some people post their Hba1c results at 48, (without a decimal point) while others would say 7.0%. Would someone explain what the number without the decimal point means?

I am borderline or pre diabetic

My doctor says I am borderline type 2. And even though have been keeping my blood sugar level below 140 mg 2 hours from the time I start eating, I have not been able to move my A1C to less than 6.1. I walk for 35 minutes five times per week, and do 15 minute strength training twice per week...
