    Nobody mentions ED.

Don’t despair. I’ve suffered the same problem and totally understand. Pills don’t work for me but I have found that an injection into the penis of Caverject really does work. It sounds horrific but actually it’s not that bad and the result is having sex, which is always nice!! The...

    Levemir Injection Times

I have exactly the same and it is definitely dawn phenomenon. I also inject in the morning and do 2 or 3 units of NR. It won't make a difference when you take the night time Levemir. The issue is that your liver produced glucose which gives you energy to wake up. I have read a couple of...

T1s - how 'controlled' are you?

He should try a continuous glucose monitoring system. I use the freestyle Libre (actually it's a flash system not continuous) or a dexicon which can be linked to your phone and send alarms. Made my control much better and less severe hypos. Sent from my iPhone using DCUK Forum mobile app

Is this the case with exercise to correct high bs

My insulin corrects reasonably quickly. Are you injecting in a site that is lumpy? The absorption is much slower. Inject before food. I use my fitnesspal to tell me how many carbs in about to take onboard. Also try and cut your carbs down, then you won't need so much insulin to bring it...

    T1 ....low carb

Can you run through a typical day of food and insulin? I've drastically dropped my carbs but nowhere near 20. Most days I try and go for under 100, which is achievable. Sent from my iPhone using DCUK Forum mobile app

    Senseonic 90 day CGM

At the moment this has no legs but this tech could evolve into something useful. I love all these companies fighting it out for CGM, pumps, closed loop pumps and eventually the bionic Pancras. Sent from my iPhone using DCUK Forum mobile app

    Senseonic 90 day CGM

Been reading about this. Diabetic technology is really moving at a pace! This one is still a few years from coming to the market but it has been trialled in Europe. It works by using an implant under your skin which lasts 90 days. The implant sends info to a receiver which in-turn sends...

I do have a reasonably low carb lifestyle. I try to avoid them as much as I can. Maybe that's why mine starts to rise at 8! Sent from my iPhone using DCUK Forum mobile app

    Dawn phenomenon potential solution

I have dawn phenomenon for those who don't know this is when your sugar rises in the morning as a result of your liver producing glucose, essentially to get you ready for the day. Fortunately mine starts at around 7.30/8 and I keep an eye on it with my Libre. The easy solution (not on a pump)...

Food Labelling - Specifically label sizes /nutritional info

I use an app called myfitnesspal. You can scan any barcode in the world and it seems to have the info on there. Also you can type in what you are eating and it tells you the carbs (you tell it the weight). If you load the information to one meal (I.e lunch) and turn the phone to the side it...

    Levemir alteration help

I am on Levemir and it follows a pattern every day. It may not be perfect but if you understand the patter it can work. . Basically in the morning my sugars go up and I need to make a small quick acting adjustment and in the late afternoon it drops down, so I have something to eat to counter...
