Can't sleep - blood sugar too high

I would be taking a little bit of fast acting insulin at that level.

    Fairly awkward moment at work!

Yes definatly need to tell employers about it. I test in public/infront of anyone, even at the shop etc, i have no problem with people seeing that. Most of the time people are really interested in it, can be rather annoying having to explain it all though. My colleagues forever asking me...

How often do you test, which meter do you use?

I test around 8/9 times a day depending on the situation, some a lot more if i have had lows.feel ill etc. I use an accu-check mobile meter and also have an accu-check aviva. I don't pay for my test strips or my meter at all, i'm shocked to see some of you have to and you're in the UK?

worried about not being able to work

My eyes go really blurry after highs and lows etc, depending on my blood sugars. I was struggling to read road signs when driving, so i went the opticians and got some very low prescription glasses. Work perfectly. some days i don't need them others i do, but it might be a similar thing?

    high blood sugars..

Yeah, I certainly feel my low's but my highs are a bit harder to tell. Sometimes i feel really high and test and they're normal. Just have to be careful! I probably test too much though

Varying BG Meter Readings - How??!!

Yes I would just stick to one machine and use only that one. I have pricked my finger and tested, then tested a different finger or a different hand straight after and had a pretty big result difference too. I don't think 0.4 of a reading is going to make much difference in regards to a low or not.

type 1 and thinking about babies!

Silly question maybe but can you still inject your stomach when pregnant? My legs/bum take ages for the fast acting to work so what other options are there once you get quite big?

    Won't go down!!

Yeah i've always been on Levimir, I have highered it by a few units and my bloods today were actually alot more controlled. I am going to have to just experiment with the levels I think. I am testing about an hour after my meals- i know it's abit soon but sometimes if i am still hungry and I...

    Won't go down!!

I have moved my injection site to my stomach as i was getting lumpy sites in other places, but i dont have any on my tummy. I inject all over it so i dont get the build up. I'm on Levemir 34 units at tea time. It seems to be after meals that they rocket.

lantus seems to have stopped working

Similar thing has been happening with me- I have posted about this in another thread, but I am not familiar with Lantus, is this the same as Levemir? That's what I take anyway but I don't think that's the problem. It's the Novorapid that doesn't seem to be working as it usually does lately, i'm...
