    New numbers today!

Well, today I have seen the 'next stone down' for the first time. That was nice. Then, my 'before' bg earlier was 4.5. Yes, 4.5. Down from 16.5 at diagnosis 4 weeks ago! Hurrah for new numbers! Sent from my iPad using DCUK Forum

I want my old eyes back!

Thanks for all the replies and reassurances. My eyes still aren't right, but my bg readings are averaging 7 now, and things are becoming more stable. Fingers crossed that my eyes come back - I am not enjoying wearing glasses to read at close range! Sent from my iPad using DCUK Forum

I'm told by a lady at work that testing my BS before and 2 hrs after food is really bad for me!

My work colleagues just look me up and down (I'm a big girl) and nod in that 'fat people are asking for diabetes' way... Sent from my iPad using DCUK Forum

I want my old eyes back!

Most of the T2 is okay to handle - I'm eating healthily, exercising and have lost 10lbs since being diagnosed two weeks ago. I'm even coping with Metformin. But my eyesight has gone :(. My laser corrected perfect vision is blurred and I have to wear reading glasses to see anything closer than...

    Type 2 Life

Hello type 2ers! Hope everyone is okay - I'm a bit new, but thought I'd dive right in with a question... What can I have for "good" snacks? I have nuts and cheese so far. Any more inspiring choices? I am trying to eat low carb... Thanks! Tabby x Sent from my iPad using DCUK Forum

    Who am I now?

I'm 42, and newly diagnosed T2. For most of my life I've been the jolly eater - the girl who out eats the guys in Pizza Hut, who finishes the cake in the staff room to "help" others. The one who knows the best cakes in Costa, the nicest places to eat, the pubs with the best menus. It's who I am...

I think this is a good thing....

1 week in, and I've just had my first day at what I consider "normal" levels. Fbg was 12.2 (I think I must have high morning levels). After lunch was 7.7 [emoji4] After dinner was 8.0 [emoji5] I've followed the LCHF advice, stuck rigidly to a decent diet and been more active this week. I'm...

Is this an expected pattern? Newly diagnosed and confused...

I'm very new - got an accu-chek mobile tester yesterday in order to try to get my T2 under control. Diagnosis levels were high H1a 91 and fbg 16.5. I am taking 500mg Metformin daily (to rise to 1500mg in three weeks) Today's results are confusing me: Fbg on waking: 15.8 2 hrs after breakfast...
