    Rapid Acting Insulins: Side Affects

What type of Rapid Acting Insulins are currently available to Type 1 Diabetics? I seem to be very susceptible to the lil side affects of each and Novorapid doesn't suit me in the slightest. Has anyone else had side affects associated to Novorapid and/or switched to alternatives? Would love...

    NOVORAPID SIDE EFFECT??

All people react to all medications in different ways ... if you have a hunch that something isn't right then ask for a change. There are a few fast acting insulins that are essentially interchangeable as far as I know. At least they are for Type 1 diabetics. IMPORTANTLY though I would...

    Analogues

Guys I want some advice regarding analogue insulins. I have been on Levemir and Lantus and I genuinely feel both make me feel tired, headachey, joint ache, confusion, dizziness and general all over achey and weak. (Obviously that could be down to the Vitamin D Deficiency, the underactrive...

    Metformin:

Thanks so much. Is the slow release version commonly prescribed?! What is it known as?!

    Metformin:

I am a Type 1 diabetic who takers Novorapid and Levemir. I have recently been diagnosed with an underactive thyroid which rendered my Blood Sugars almost uncontrollable. I literally was increasing my Basal Insulin by 2 units every 2nd or 3rd day. Anyway, the long and the short of it is that...

    Insulin Problems:

HLW. No one has said that there is a problem per se with those insulins. However, to continue tour analogy, if you had a peanut allergy (albeit with no visible manifestations) how would you feel if you were blindly force fed peanuts on a daily basis. An almost blind faith to something that is...

    Hypurin?!

The one I have seen is on the Workchadt website. Sounds similar(ish). Oh well. I thought a 3D version may exist. Those ones give that extra level of accuracy.

    Hypurin?!

Have you got a profile graph for these insulins?! All I have seen is the rather crude bar chart styled Thingy-Me-Bobby. I know they are an approximation but I find it helps with visualising the rough action the insulin has on the body.

    Hypurin?!

Thanks. Do you, or any of the other prokers have any opinions on the profiles of the Isophane and Neutral insulins. I seem to be getting reactions much quicker than 2 hours on the fast acting. Whatsmore, if the peak actvity of the Isophane is between 6 and 12 hours the dose I take in the...

    Diabetic Revolutions:

What are the latest developments in Diabetes?! How are people finding pumps, inhalers etc?! How does one go about getting one? Things never seem to be offered or discussed in the diabetes world - at least not with me. Also, is there anyway of being a guinea pig for new products?! I have...

    Doseage (HYPURIN)

But as the Porcine insulins have more peaky profiles I guess it becomes more of a problem to match up with ur bodies Liver Activity?! Non?! I am going to increase my basal tonight so I may try an overnight test or two! Meh. What time does the Dawn effect normally come into play?! I'm guessing...

    Insulin Problems:

People may make flippant remarks about 'killer insulins' without ever experiencing any of the associated problems. The fact I felt suicidal for the best part of the time I was on such medications may, ironically, mean that you are closer to the truth, albeit unintentionally, for some people than...

    Insulin Problems:

Guys, I was just wondering what evidence, clinical trials etc there are of major problems with different insulins. I hae tried the two main slow acting analogue insulins. While I have to say Lantus (and Levemir) gave fantasticaly tight BS control I would say that I personally found Lantus to...

    Doseage (HYPURIN)

Right guys. I have a few questions that I wondered if anyone here could help with?! I recently changed from Levemir/Novorapid to Porcine Hypurin (both neutral and ispohane). I am having some difficulties with the switch over. I know this is probably fairly common. On the advice of someone...

    Hypurin?!

Right guys. I have, after many years of insulin struggles, been switched to Hypurin Porcine Isophane and Hypurine Porcine Neutral. Just wanted to know if anyone could help suggest a starting point for my doseage. I was previously taking 26-28 units of Levamir at 11pm The 3 injections of...
