    Sorry Talos, my reply did not mean to sound threatening to my my GP at all, in fact he has been great, its just that since being diagnosed I have had conflicting info from both my GP and my newly appointed Diabetes nurse, who do I believe???

    Old time Diabetic testing.

    Hope anyone here could clear up a (might sound strange) query, My fellow diabetes sufferer at work says that in days gone past, the doctor used to taste the urine to identify diabetes, all boils down to weather the urine tasted sweet or not. Is he having me on???

    Being told you cant Inject at work!!

    I have a collegue at work who is type 2 insulin dependent, no one bats an eyelid when he injects, really I do despair if people take offence at any diabetic injecting???

    Hiya Jan Im type 2 on 2x 80mg Gliclazide a day, I live in Featherstone so also come under (Location removed) , I too have been told that I do not need a monitor contrarary to what the Diabetes nurse said at my DESMOND course, especially as I perform safety critical duties as part of my work...

    Thanks for the kind welcome chaps and chapesses 8) , just returned from the DESMOND course, I was the youngest (34 y.o.) there, I have got to admit I was impressed lots of useful information given out, done in two sessions the morning session was all about diabetes, the medications available...

    Hi all, Just been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, it was only found because I had to have a blood test to check whether I was not surceptable (Sp) to hereditary bowel cancer (My dad has just found out he has the dreaded C ), put straight on 80mg Glicazide twice a day. Booked on a DESMOND course...
