    Skin irritation from dexcom sensor

Has anyone else had skin irritation from the dexcom sensor tape? For the first few months my skin was fine but now my skin is becoming itchy under the sensor and around it, and also small bumps along the outside of the tape, symptoms usually start on the 3rd day of wearing it. I change my sites...

How long did you think you had diabetes before diagnosis?

Dx when I was 20 and was in good shape and health at the time. I did not have any symptoms and it does not run in my family. I found out through a pre employment drug screen and was advised that I maybe had it for only 3 months or so before being dx. I did have a trauma/accident about 3-4...

How to stay healthy during cold and flu season

@Bluetit1802 Thank you for the advice! I will have to try Vicks First Defence. I work in a doctors office and am actually more healthier than most of my work mates, even with a weakened immune system lol. But I was just curious what others do and I am always looking for new tips and tricks...

Unfortunately, I work in a doctors office so there is always stuff going around from patients and or staff. But I do practice washing hands thoroughly, no face touching and anti-bacterial gel is my friend. I also take daily vitamins and during the cold season I add an emergency drink (Vitamin...

    Refuse to take my insulin

@Jaspreet I'm so sorry. I have been there as well, I was done. I was at my lowest of lows in life and threw in the towel. That ended me up in the hospital for about a week. I am lucky to still be here, it was my wake up call. I did not realize at the time how my health was affecting my family...

    Dexcom sensor

@TorqPenderloin, I hear ya! I felt the same as well but they advised me that if your in pain or its uncomfortable to take it out and they will be more than happy to replace it. I would find myself leaving it in even if it was painful due to not wanting to waste it. Sadly, my insurance will only...

    Dexcom sensor

@TorqPenderloin I have also wasted a few sensors due pain, inserting issues and trying to find the "right" spot. But dexcom has been pretty awesome about replacing each of those sensors. Did you get your sensors replaced? If not it's for sure worth a call.

    Dexcom sensor

I have a dexcom sensor and have been rotating my site mostly on my stomach along with my insulin pump site, so my stomach is taking a beating between the two. I recently got the ok from my doctor to put my dexcom sensor on the back of my arm which is great, but it seems to catch more there since...

    Diabetes burnout

Thank you everyone for the advice. I am still taking my insulin and checking my BG. I think I just need to make better choices about food aka stay away from the sweets at work and hit the gym, and that will for sure help with my numbers and A1C. I am not out of control by any means just hit a...
