    Glucodock- any good?

No help from me I'm afraid, but I am actually wondering the same thing! I've heard that the iBGStar, a similar iPhone BG meter, comes out with higher than normal readings for a lot of people, so I was just wondering whether people are experiencing similar things with the GlucoDock. Also, I am...

    Insulin pump blogs

I've been bad for a long time with my blogging, but I am happy to announce that I started a new blog this weekend (with a new goal!) and I am fully intending to keep up with it this time  . I wrote my first post after coming across so many comments from fellow Ds (mostly Type Ones)...

New to forum. Pump for 6 yrs. About to give up

Oh please do! Which app is it I've not heard of any apps for pumping before, could you PM me it otherwise?

Consistent high readings even after corrections?!?

Hi, I do use the inserter. To be fair, I've also been thinking it might be the sets that are the problem. I'm using the smallest cannula (I think the Silhouettes have two different sizes) so I can't change that. Before this I used the Quicksets but they used to kink under my skin all the time...

New to forum. Pump for 6 yrs. About to give up

I'm feeling a bit like this at the moment Fleur. I've been on the Medtronic Paradigm since March this year and it started off fantastically, but now since a few months my levels have been all over the place. I'm experiencing daily hypos (most likely due to having started going to the gym 5 times...

Consistent high readings even after corrections?!?

Hi guys I've not been on for a while but I'm experiencing some weird things at the moment and I'm nearly at the end of my tether, it's so frustrating! I've been seeing it for a while now, but I used to only get it right after a cannula change. Sometimes, my BG would 'shoot' up to 12-14 and...

    Question to all CGM users

God I'd love there to be part funding, that would make things so much easier already! I guess for me, I haven't been on the pump long enough yet to see whether it would really add something to my control or whether it would just be 'nice to have'. I'm currently experiencing a lot of problems...

    Loose silhouette adhesive

I think I had it once before as well, but the rest of the batch were fine. I thought at first that my skin must have been greasy or something but glad to see I wasn't the only one with this problem!

    Question to all CGM users

Hi everyone I've been on the pump since March now and I've been able to borrow a CGM from the hospital twice to help me sort out misbehaving levels. Since about two months now I keep having one of two hypos every DAY and I just couldn't figure out where the problem lies. The thing is - whenever...

Can some one help please ?xx

That's true I never took a course either but you do need to be able to count carbs :) I had to prove to my dietitian that I could do it before they would consider me.

    Silouhette sets - tricky

When I inserted my Silhouette for the first time I nearly passed out when I pulled out the needle! The main thing to keep in mind though is that not nearly all of the needle actually goes into your skin ;) I find it much easier with the inserter, it's very straightforward. Just push the little...

Can some one help please ?xx

Alan is right. I'd start by discussing it with your DSN that you would like an insulin pump and they will be able to advise you. It's a bit of a postcode lottery at the moment, I was able to get funding for a pump within a week, but I know other people who have been on a waiting list for several...

    On the pump....planning a baby..advice

Ahh I get it :) and what a coincidence we all go to BRI lol. I've loved Sandra from the beginning she was the first person to even think to put me on Levemir after I couldn't get consistent readings on Lantus and when that failed she suggested the pump and got me funding for it that same week...

    AUDIO INSTRUCTIONS ON PUMPS???

I have the Medtronic Paradigm Veo and all the alarms sound the same on there so I don't think that one would be of much help to you sadly :?

Help with new medtronic veo pump - alarm!

That's great you got it sorted, hope they work out better for you! Are you getting the SilSerter as well? That's the insertion device to shoot them in at the right angle. I know some people put them in manually, and I tried to do that on the train last week but I just can't do it (partly because...

    Unexplained raised levels

Hi guys I've been hovering around 10-12 for about a week now with a few hypos and okay levels in between, but generally too high. Slightly embarrassing question... does anyone know if having thrush raises your levels? I've had it for about a week now as well but I haven't properly sorted it out...

    On the pump....planning a baby..advice

Oh I have Sandra too, she's fab! She's helped me so much and she knows really a lot. I didn't know she was a midwife too? I am definitely that's why I'm working so hard to get it under control now so that when we do decide to go for it I am all ready! It won't be for another year or two but I...

Help with new medtronic veo pump - alarm!

How annoying! Could you see anything wrong with the Teflon tube after you took the cannula out? Did it look bent? Have you tried giving a bolus when you're not attached to the cannula to see I it does deliver then? Maybe there is something wrong with the pump or the tubing.

    On the pump....planning a baby..advice

My bf used to go to Salts too but he was a few years ahead of you :) I've only lived here for a year now or so. Sounds good about the pre conception clinic, do you know if it's done by the same nurses that do the normal appointments or will you be seeing different people? I know, I've been...

Help with new medtronic veo pump - alarm!

I think it's most likely to happen when you insert it, at least that's when I kept noticing it happening to me! It even went wrong on my very first one that I inserted at the hospital... I got back to work after my appointment and my BG was 18.1! Even now I always make sure to test...
