    Nothing seems to work

[[i]i] Yep I am overweight and I am also struggling with comfort eating. I try and watch what I consume throughout the day, but if I get stressed or upset, I go for the carbs. With all the insulin I have tried, the Insuman 25 combi didn't make me swell up until I reached 16 units. I thought...

Hiya. Glucophage is just another name for Metformin. I have trouble taking the slow released stuff!! I would take two 500mg twice a day and would be in agony by the time I had my evening meal, Gastric trouble at it's best would be the polite way of putting it!! Some people are OK with it...

Anyone Had any problems with Gliclazide?

Hiya, I don't seem to be having much luck with meds to help lower my bloods. I have tried metformin and sitagliptin and now the doc has asked me to try Gliclazide 30 mg MR. I took one tablet on Friday morning and after a little while began to feel as though I would pass out. I would also have...

Is anyone else sensitive to metformin and sitagliptin?

I also have the same problem as my diabetic nurse just looks at me as if I am mad  When I try to explain how I feel towards it all...taking the medication, fear of side effects, she just tells me that I have to take something. I was given gliclizide to try, but after reading the side...

Is anyone else sensitive to metformin and sitagliptin?

Thank you for your replies. Maybe I am not giving the meds enough time to work their magic. :D I got nightmares when I was taking sitigliptin, but I have recently suffered from severe watery stools and a feeling of being quite unwell while taking the metformin. I am not taking anything at...

Is anyone else sensitive to metformin and sitagliptin?

Yes, I've had a foul taste too. Jaw ache is another thing I've noticed with the metformin. I think that deep down I just want to control it without the use of meds. My other problem is craving carbs! I managed to give up smoking. That was easy compared to this. I feel such a failure!

Is anyone else sensitive to metformin and sitagliptin?

Hiya, I just wanted to know if anyone else has been sensitive to Metformin and Sitagliptin? I have suffered from severe gastric problems with Metformin and nightmares (plus other things) with Sitagliptin. Would appreciate anybody else's view on this topic as I am feeling fed up. Was going to...

Advice on low carbs for the family

Hiya, As I'm having trouble tolerating medication for type 2 diabetes, my GP has suggested a low caeb diet. I've seen a dietitian who has given me breakfast ideas, however, I'm on a tight budget with a family to feed. Does anyone have any good meal suggestions that the whole family could eat...

Hiya all, At the end of the day, I am struggling with this. The book in question is a diabetic cookbook. I need sopmething to work from. I am sorry if I have caused offence to you all, but I really am finding this difficult. All I did was tell someone that if I had one or two of these little...

    whats going on ?

Hi Anna, I'm with you on the reasoning about insulin, also, I read a blog on this site that GP's are trying to push people onto insulin because it's cheaper than the other stuff!! Anyway, I really don't want to take it, and when I said this to my Diabetic nurse, she got really angry with me...

    please help if you can

Hiya :D I'm not so sure what my average is, but in the morning it's around 13 mmol, before lunch it's about 9 mmol, and before dinner, anything between 7 and 9 mmol. I know it's high, which is why I'm stressing about it so much. I think I just want it all to go away!!

I'm testing all the time...in the morning before breakfast, 2 hours after breakfast, before lunch, 2 hours after lunch, before dinner, 2 hours after dinner, before bedtime and if I wake up in the middle of the night, I'll do it then!!! It's driving me nuts, but the diabetic dragon, oops, I mean...

    whats going on ?

Hi Anna, I'm just feeling really depressed when I'm on it. Also, I'm getting really constipated! I just hate how I'm feeling on it. My blood sugars are high in the morning, around the 13 mmol mark, and go down during the day between 7 and 9 mmol. I follow a low GI diet, I'm slowly...

    whats going on ?

Hi Anna, Sorry to sound thick, but is Victoza a tablet or injection? I'm taking Sitagliptin at the moment, and that isn't working so well. I'm feeling really depressed with it and want to quit. I told the nurse and she went mad at me for saying it.

    please help if you can

Hi Roxy, 10 years ago, I quit smoking, but substituted fags with food. I was already overweight, but ballooned up to 17 stone. It was the health visitor who suggested that I go for a blood test, to see if my thyroid was ok. I went, but then I got a call from the surgery telling me to make an...

    please help if you can

Roxy, I am still having trouble coming to terms with it all. The quack thought I was type 2 10 years ago, then the nurse said that I wasn't - that I had just overloaded my body with sugar. I never went to the docs again until January of this year. I don't believe I'm type 2. I know many will...

    Bouts of depression and sitagliptin

[color=#BF0000][color=#804080] I guess I am finding it hard to deal with, but the biggest thing is that I am taking medication every day and it doesn't really seem to be working. I just don't want to be popping pills anymore. I can't take metformin - I tried again yesterday, but all I got...

    Bouts of depression and sitagliptin

Hiya LGC Well, a few years ago I quit smoking and converted ciggies to carbs! I shot up to 17 stone before I knew it. In fact, it was my daughter's health visitor that suggested I went for a thyroid check. I didn't have any symptoms of type 2 then and I still don't now, but since I've been on...
