I had classic symptoms but because I drank a lot the GP thought I liked a few beers ! . After emergency entry for Insulin treatment and subsequent eye operations...

    Average blood sugars on tested levels are not true representations, HbA1c is the only real indicator.

    Have had annual flu jabs for years without effect. Earlier this month had the jab and felt as rough as a rhino's bottom for a few days with subsequent high BG.

    In the early 70's when I had severe undiagnosed diabetes, I was told my my [mod edit] GP too wash my feet more because of peripheral neuritis.

    HbA1C is a non-standardised test which varies from one hospital to another, if you find a way to relate it to average BG readings please tell us.

    A classic from the BBC website today on hypo related story, "The condition is commonly associated with Type 1 diabetes, when the patients inject too much insulin, miss a meal or drink alcohol" . Always wondered where I was going wrong!!!
