how high is high ? you should try and eat to match your insulin, what units are you on and how much are you eating ? maybe you need more rapid before you eat or you may need more of the base insulin, have you told your doc about your high bg.

you may have eaten too much slow release food such as pasta or rice which would make your bg low and later on i find my bg tends to be a bit high,if that was the case try and balance it out with a food that gives your bg a quick boost

i take glucose tabs aswell, not very tasty, yuck

yes shadow you need help right away ,what are you eating for your meals and how many units of fast acting insulin are you taking before each meal ?you must get help or you will end up damaging your eyes, kidneys and other organs, good luck
