Most people with type 2 diabetes will also eventually need to use insulin.

I exercise a lot and my weight is fairly stable, and my HBA1C was 51 in june Usually 47 to 50 with a 55 outlier. I dread an injury, as this would stop the exercise, which benefits my Diabetes and Asthma. Also means I am fit enough to ski. I probably eat a volume of Carbohydrates which would...

I had taken 12 20mg Artovastatin and was feeling terrible so went back to Simvastatin 40mg which I seem to tolerate, and the problems went away just as quickly, thank goodness. Just asked to revert at the next appointment, now have to keep the levels steady oh joy!

Anybody else in the same boat?

I cycle a lot, and after excercise I just try to initially get the salts back into balance Banana (potassium) and something salty. Then try to eat to maintain weight. If you stop you have to reduce the extras exercise allowed.

Petrified, retinopathy, help!! Updated 2018 check up

Hi I am twice as old as you and the eye test can be a bit worrying, but they are first signs and the next test is no worse and may even be better. I would only worry if they increase the frequency of the Retinopathy tests

    Statins and CoQ10

Hmm Good statistical information but is the certainty related to the fact that is about the limited number of straight line that goes through the busiest part of the graph and divide the other entries, and the choice of one, or is it not a straight line at all? It seems likely that cholesterol...

Thanks @carty I really enjoy walnuts and Greek Yoghurt, recipe dates from Student days when it included a bit of brown sugar needless to say, that was dropped long ago. Need to gain weight

Gosh someone like me, I would like a BMI of about 21.5 but I am currently 20.2, I know some feel BMI is daft but I feel as I have gone down from 21.2 due to exercise and perhaps dehydration, It will be hard work to consume enough calories to achieve that. My HBA1c is well controlled on 500mg...

Exercise pushes my BGs up - what can I do to control this, please?

Hi Energise, My HBa1C is around 50 and I do not have a meter, but I do a lot of exercise, and start the day with a breakfast which would shock the Low Carb folk but is slow absorption(GI). I cycled 1890 miles in 2015 and Hiked 575 And I think I will exceed that this year. These are group walks...

    Eating and type 2

Weescotty, Processed Food has sugar(sucrose) and salt, so do some takeaways, even restaurants add some or both. Also the humble spud, Loaf, Rice, Pasta and noodles are carbohydrates, which the body turns to glucose. Hope this helps you with type 2, don't get brought down by it beat it. Rod
