    Medical exemption card revoked

I also buy my own Flexitol and all other OTC medicines. There are lots of conditions that need drugs to save lives but don't entitle the patient to free prescriptions. It's not your GP's decision - it's the rules as outlined here...

Glad to hear you are seeing some improvement. If you need to try a different sweetener for your cereal I like Stevia.

What Regime Did You Use To Achieve Remission? (excl. Lchf And Nd)

When I was on three different drugs for Type 2 diabetes and my blood glucose was out of control with a HbA1c of 75 I knew I had to do something about it. To be honest I saw the documentary on tv and it frightened me. I had been lurking on this site for some time and tried the LCHF diet but...

    What to eat/drink at wedding

Thank you all for your replies :) The whole event is going to be about 11 hours long. I will take some food but leave it in the car for if and when I need it. I will definitely be taking the squeezy jiucy thing to add to the water, though :)

    What to eat/drink at wedding

I'm going to a wedding soon and it is going to be a very long day. There will be buffet food at the reception and I'm expecting lots of sandwiches, pork pies, sausage rolls, quiche and so on that of course I can't eat because of the carbs. I'm hoping there will be plenty of fresh salads...

    Medication Help

You should only be taking statins if you have high cholesterol and BP tablets if you have high blood pressure. Just because you are diabetic it doesn't mean you have either of those conditions. Are you taking any medication for the diabetes? Do you test your blood glucose levels?

    Can anyone advise please

I would probably call the doctor but you could call 111, the NHS helpline, for advice first.

    Do you ever feel ashamed?

Chook, are you obese? It seems that being T2 AND obese attracts a lot of negativity from the media

    Little annoyed - test strips

My local chemist charges £15 for 50 Tee 2 strips. Complete rip off. Excellent service from Spirit Healthcare, so I recommend them

    Do you ever feel ashamed?

I know exactly how you feel. I cannot drink any alcohol as it really causes spikes in my BS - I'd rather tell people I'm not drinking because I'm a recovering alcoholic than tell the truth of being a T2 diabetic. Directly because of the negative media reports .
