    HBA1C up from 38 - 54 in 9 months

tried the multi testing - not helped the inability of the local pharmacy (within the GP surgery ) to provide test strips - keep supplying beta ketone not Optium. - last ketone test (not today) was 0.2 so will need to check that also. I have contacted the diabetes specialist at the local NHS...

    HBA1C up from 38 - 54 in 9 months

all. thanks for the comments. Taking some of the comments in reverse order. Diakat - yes i am self testing - finger pricking- every morning, it has been rising but the GP is not interested, he comments that these are only indicators and that the only true test is the HBA1C, which is why we...

    HBA1C up from 38 - 54 in 9 months

nice and easy one. been feeling particularly low for a number of months - sore throat, achy eyes, lack of energy. Approached my GP and pushed for a blood test -. my last HBA1C came back as 38 (Jan 2019), this last was 54, the GP says that no action is required, but surely that is not the case...

hi, Daibell, the figures are not crazy, but nor are they going down. I have a constant headache, and eye pain in my left eye. These have all been constant now for about 3 weeks, as is the lack of energy. But interestingly when i did manage some exercise - whether that be a cycle ride or...

    non insulin LADA

hi, been looking but can't find any answers to the question I have. I have ben diagnosed with T1 LADA for just over 2 1/2 years now. I am the only T1 LADA on the GPs books so am a bit of an anomaly for him - doesn't quite know how to pigeon hole me! I take 4 x 500mg Metformin a day (2 at...

Diagnosed Feb 2017 with a BG in exceess of 33 - had a health screen at work, spoke to the GP about the numbers who flapped a little then said to go to A&E - went there the next day and was taken straight to the clinic where...

what would hba1c be for type 1.5 or 1

Thanks. I was diagnosed T1 LADA about a year ago, after initially being told was T2. As I did not present as a typical T2 I was considered an anomaly and had the additional tests which confirmed the re-diagnosis. the problem now is that I have been told that there are no support courses to...

    'Normal' HBAc1?

My experience differs somewhat. Massive weight loss in Jan 17, treated as T2. Subsequent test revealed T1 LADA, so meds changed - meteor in and sitagliptin. Always have been active some am somewhat of an anomaly on the clinics books - they have no other T1 LADA in the area. My last HBA1c was...

    It's a mystery

Hi I was in a similar situation, except that the clinic happily gave me a meter (for both BG and Ketone) then I got a spare from my local GP - again supported with prescription test strips and lancets. So I was, it seems, lucky in that respect. I was diagnosed at the start of February as a...

New Type ?: we still don't know!

Well, there you go. Met with the Doctor this afternoon. GAD test results were back and it was all positive. "Positive" , Great I thought, and then thought again and again. Ok, so Type 1 LADA it is. SO now I know, it is time to move on and manage it before it tries to mange me.

Mep, just to make matters more interesting, I didn't have anything last night, so went to bed on a 4.8, but woke up with a reading of 5.6. I am, and continue to be an anomaly to my doctor and nurses :)

Hi, just thought I would join in here. I tend not to post on 'social' media so this is all new to me, apologies if I have it wrong! I have been watching some of the more recent posts of new diagnosis, and thought if they can then I can. I had my 50th birthday at the end of January, mu biggest...
