    Creatine use in T1

Hi Is anyone aware of any authoritative sources on the safety of creatine monohydrate (or other types) in type 1 diabetics? I have done some searching online and come up with very little more than anecdotal stories. I've seen some sources that say it simply hasn't been studied. On a similar...

Anyone get a hard time about low HbA1C?

Hi Jaylee, thanks for the reply. Out of interest, what do you (or others if you know) tend to consider to be a hypo? I think my hospital's main concern is that I lose hypo awareness. As it is, I usually get symptoms at around 3.6, which probably coincides with that being the low alert setting...

Anyone get a hard time about low HbA1C?

I am wondering whether anyone else gets a hard time from their hospital for their A1c being "too low". By way of background, my stats since diagnosis in February 2017 are: February 2017 - 10.5% April 2017 - 6.7% August 2017 - 4.5% March 2018 - 4.5% October 2018 - 4.5% The only result that my...

    HbA1c update

Thanks. Not at all really. I use relatively low doses of insulin due to low carbs and if I do see my levels dropping, i correct it before a hypo.

    HbA1c update

Had my second HbA1c test last week (the first being only 7 weeks or so after diagnosis) and we are now down to 4.5%/25.7. February 2017 - 10.5% April 2017 -6.7% August 2017 - 4.5%

    Low carb bread

Bought some for the first time this week. Had been eating a different low carb bread daily before that. Think I may be making the switch to Livlife, though - very nice tasting.

The smell of insulin?...Good or Bad??

I noticed it the first time I injected after leaving the hospital post-diagnosis. For a while, I couldn't work out why the smell of hospital had followed me home.

    Glucometer vs Hba1c?

It is good that you are getting it checked and it is obviously easier said than done, but I would try not to be too worried at this stage. I am not sure what the situation is for type 2s, but when I was diagnosed, my sugars were over 15 mmol/l 8 hours after eating. 5.3 and 4.5 are perfectly...

    Lidl's High Protein Rolls

Bought some of this to try today: http://www.livlifefoods.co.uk/ The packaging confirms that it is 14.6g carbs per 100g and 3.8g per slice (the slices are small). Worth a try at least. Lately I've been eating at least 2 slices of this Profusion bread a day (14.4g per 100g and 7.2g per slice)...

    Lidl's High Protein Rolls

Is it 14.6 or 15.8 grams of carbs per 100? The website seems to say both?

    Dexcom app update

@ElkBond are you seeing this a fair bit where the Dexcom number should be? Happened to me maybe 4-5 times today. Not sure if it fixes itself as I always just tap on the complication which opens the app and updates it.

    Dexcom app update

Thanks. That was it. I realised moments before you replied, and after I had deleted and reinstalled the app :)

    Dexcom app update

Hmm, strange. I have just downloaded the new update (had to be done at some point) and the Sugarmate app hasn't updated since. I would like to have both that and the Dexcom complication ideally.

    Dexcom app update

@ElkBond Does your Sugarmate app work alongside the new update?

    Dexcom app update

Another thought for muting for planned meetings etc would be to plug in headphones (or at least a headphone jack) to mute the sound. That way you could still see notifications on your phone (rather than closing the app or shutting down the phone). You may have to leave your watch out of range...

    Dexcom app update

Does the Apple Watch complication side of the update at least work well? :)

    Dexcom app update

I find the alerts to be very useful generally. You also need to have them on to have a target range on your Dexcom graph if I am correct. Do you mean just turn them off for specific occasions where you need silence (and hope none of the other alarms go off)? Because I agree that sounds like the...

    Dexcom app update

It really is inexplicable why they would think that this is a good idea. It is the first app that I have heard of which actively disregards your choice to silence. I have been using a silent ring/text tone for when I just wanted Dexcom alerts (i.e. at night), which still gave me the freedom to...

    Dexcom app update

Thanks @ElkBond . Looking forward to your thoughts. I haven't downloaded yet - I am scared to ruin a good thing! I am still getting used to how my phone and watch interact. Currently, if I have my phone set to silent, I get a tap on my watch for notifications but no audible alert from either...

    Dexcom app update

The latest update for the Dexcom app has just been released. I have been waiting for this for a while for the Apple Watch compatibility update. One thing I notice however is that the release includes: "When your smart device is set to Silent, Do Not Disturb, or low volume, you can still hear...
