Hi Lionchild, Libre 2+ is an upgraded version of Libre 2. I use it with Omnipod 5 closed loop. It lasts for 15 days. Apart from that much the same.

    pump ideas

Hi tam235 I would support what EllieM advised. Your first step needs to be finding out which pumps are available locally. I am an Omnipod 5 Libre 2+ closed loop user. I have used a pump for 6 years and would recommend it. I started on a Medtronic pump but found it difficult to do the set...

FreeStyle Libre2 readings on a Andriod Smart Watch

Hi Richard I have tried yet again. I managed to get connected, unfortunately my sensor then stopped working. I got the message searching for sensor for an hour. I have now changed the sensor and I am now back up and working. I have not tried to connect again in case I loose another sensor.

Thinking of going onto insulin pump tandem t:slim

Morning KimL I am an Omnipod 5 Closed Loop user. I use the Libre 2+ sensor. I have not been on a pump for 5/6 years. I would agree with the others it does take a quite a bit of getting used to. For me it has been well worth it and I would not want to go back to pens. I did use a Medtronic pump...

    omnipod 5

Morning richyb Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately I use Libre 2+ which does not allow me to get alarms on my phone. The only way I can get Dexcom is to fund it myself. For me this is not possible. Maybe one day funding will be available. Like you the Omnipod controller works well and apart...

    go sick when starting pump?

Morning carlos When I first started on a pump I was advised to take a weeks holiday. As was no longer working I did not have to do that. I did however plan a quiet week. The main reason for this was to get the basal rate on the pump correct. I got daily phonecalls and there were lots of...

    C reactive protein and eyes

Morning Helen So sorry to hear of your challenges. I do not have any eye problems. My CRP levels are regularly raised. Usually attributed to my arthritis or colitis. Is there any way you could get advice via your ophthalmologist. Waiting till Dec to see a GP is very poor. Hope you can get...

    Hybrid closed loop systems

Hi Ianstead I would agree with Nicola. If you are already used to Omnipod Dash, Omnipod 5 seems like a good choice. I made this swap in February this year. Once the algorithm learned about me and my requirements it has been great. FOR ME I do not hear the alarms on my PDM overnight. I have...

    Keeping Omnipod on legs

Hi Cats11. I am an Omnipod5 user. I previously used my legs a lot when I was on Omnipod Dash. I have not used my legs since changing to Omnipod 5 as I cannot maintain line of sight between my pod & my Libre 2+ sensor. I did not have a lot of problems with the pods staying in place. I tended to...

Type 1 Omnipod [emoji6[emoji640][emoji637]] searching for a sensor

Good Morning The only time I have experienced this is when I was trying give my arms a rest. As the sensor has to go on my arm I tried placing my pod on my tummy or back. They did not seem able to connect when I did that and I had to relocate my pod. I suppose line of sight was not being...

Type 1 Omnipod [emoji6[emoji640][emoji637]] searching for a sensor

Hi SalRead1 No problem I will talk you through things as best as I can. When replacing the sensor make sure the PDM is in manual mode. If you go into manage sensor the steps to follow are there. The sensor takes 1 hour to warm up. Whilst that is going you will see on your pdm searching for...

    Type 1 Dexcom v Libre

Hi I probably waited about 1 year to start on a pump. I think waiting times are a lot longer now. I started on Omnipod Dash in February 2021 and moved to Omnipod 5 in February this year . I agree technology when it works is of great benefit to managing diabetes.

    Type 1 Dexcom v Libre

I use Libre 2+ and it is a continuous glucose monitor. You have to scan once to start the sensor. I previously used Dexcom 1 and for me it was better than Libre 2. I moved to Libre 2+ when I started on Omnipod 5 Closed loop. Hope this helps

    omnipod 5

Good morning Sam. I am also an Omnipod 5 user. I am based in UK. It would be great if the controller was on your phone. For me in particular overnight I cannot hear the alarms on the pdm. It has taken up to 14 notifications for me to hear the alarm. I wear hearing aids which I remove at...
