Travelling with sensors in hot countries

I imagine you can probably get a cool bag to keep them in. I'm thinking of a Frio type one, but maybe even a lunchbag type would help with storing the sensors.

    Flying with medication

Carry your prescription tablets in a clear pouch in your hand luggage, in their original box's with the prescription sticker on. You shouldn't need a doctors letter for these. You may need one if you're carrying needles or wearing a libre. I've only travelled through Stansted, not Heathrow so...

    Insulin being rationed?

They issue just as much as you use. If your partner needs more per month then he should bring it up at his medication review where it can be adjusted.

    Libre 2 and waterparks

I speak from experience when I say being in a pool will swipe your libre right off within 10 minutes without any protection (and I am also looking for recommendations for this year) If you're going abroad also take a spare libre with you and your blood sugar testing kit if you still have one...

Type 1 Stubborn high blood sugar

Thank you all for your replies. I don't have any way of checking my ketone or double checking my blood sugars. I have finally been able to bring my blood sugars down. I hypoed though, so I'm hoping they don't rebound. I had to use more than double my usual correction dose! I inject so there's...

    Back in the day!!!!!!!!

I was diagnosed in the early 90's which means I've been diabetic for about 30 years now I was put on human mixtard (30 70) and 50u syringes with a 12mm needle. Two injections a day - one of which was just 4u in the beginning (I couldn't see the point of it!) Had to have a regimented routine...

Introduce Yourself: Answer Some Personal Questions

HI, I'm Naomi. I'm 36 years old and have been diabetic since I was ten. I use Lantas and novorapid and have done for about 12 years - so much better than two injections of human mixtard! Lol. I have been following diabetes Co. uk for ages but have only just joined the forum today. Not...

    Worried sick

Even though April is of course worried sick she needs to back off! Her daughter has been diabetic for 3 years and I'm assuming knows what is what in terms of her diabetes. Maybe having been such a 'good' diabetic she is going through a phase of realising it's for life. Maybe something else is...
