    Type 1 New Glucomen Areo Test Strips

    Has anyone else had problems with the new Glucomen Areo test strips? I'm finding that probably 50% won't start up my meter on the first insertion, sometimes I have to insert them 3 or 4 times. Then, probably 1 in 10 refuse to suck up any blood causing my meter to time out. It's really annoying...

    What is the evidence that the eatwell plate is wrong?

    Surely the food group mix is the same for everyone? 60% carbohydrate, 30% fat and 10% protein as I recall from my days as an endurance athlete when nutrition was everything. Obviously if you're not exercising then you can reduce the carbs as any excess will be stored as body fat.

    Breakfast

    If I'm looking for a low carb breakfast that keeps me full until lunchtime I have 125g plain yoghurt, 45g cottage cheese and 50g mixed nuts. Quick and easy to mix, light on the stomach but very satisfying.
