    Zoe Harcombe and her Diet

I subscribed to her site about 4 years ago and found some of the materials interesting, from an academic perspective. However, I didn't agree with some of her rationale regarding her diet, especially during the induction part. Moreover, she also discredired herself by claiming (at the time) to...

Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

I call my morning bg 'old faithful' - no matter what it's in the 6-7's range. On having a liver block it goes down to 5 for the day then is about 4.8-9 at bedtime.

Coconut oil alternatives whilst away on holiday

I'm going on holiday in a couple of weeks to Icmeler, Turkey and usually start my day with a cup of bulletproof coffee - mixed with heavy cream and coconut oil. I'm taking some coconut oil with me but I'm going for 5 weeks :) so may run out. I've already researched the local supermarkets...

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

B: 2 large bulletproof coffees with extra heavy cream L: some sliced ham D: ostrich (trying to get rid of frozen stuff before setting off on hols) with a Diane sauce- ostrich was absolutely awful, just like old boots. I just had some pepperami instead. Ketones in abundance though and fbs are...

    Meals for Hols

I tend to have a breakfast based 'round eggs and/or cold meats or cheese. I skip lunch and have a bullet proof coffee twice a day and plenty of water (I take a large jar of coconut oil and a milk frother with me). I also drink plenty of water throughout the day. Dinner is largely meat or fish...

So how dangerous is the dawn phenomenon.....

...if the rest of your blood glucose levels are low and within a tight range? Generally, after a liver block breakfast i.e. Coffee and heavy cream/ coconut oil, my bloods are good i.e. 5.1-5.4. I don't usually eat then until 6pm (hflc) and 1 hour postprandial is 5.8- 6.4, 2 hours it's about...

    Fasting Blood Sugars

Hi everyone, Even though I tightly control my BG levels with a LCHF diet (usually 1 hour postprandial I'm at 5.9 and 2 hours at 5.5-6.1), why cant I seem to get my fasting bloods lower than 5? Likewise, even though have tried fasting before bed or eating some carbohydrate before bed (with and...

    Realistic Food Portion Size

From what's been said I think I going 'bout it the right way but my protein ratio still seems to be on the generous side. Do you think the best thing to do is to: 1. increase my fat content via more butter coffee's, cream deserts and/or oil based salad dressings; 2. have a cup of bouillon...

    Realistic Food Portion Size

Can anyone help clarify what portion size I should have when on a HFLC diet? Generally, I have a low carb regime of about 40-60g per day, 200- 300 g’s protein and the remainder fat so that my daily diet is something like: Breakfast – 2 eggs, 2 pieces of bacon and 2 mushrooms fried in olive oil...
