    Carb cycling?

From research I've done I decided 50-60 g per day is good for me. I need to lose about 25 lbs. Not diabetic. I do cardio and muscle work with weights 3 times a week, so am very active.

    Carb cycling?

Thanks. As I replied above, when on low cal I had increase calories at least once a week or I'd hit a plateau that wouldn't shift. I thought I'd need to do the same with carbs as suggested on a website I found.

    Carb cycling?

Thanks. That makes sense. I found a couple of websites that suggested this but wasn't sure if I trusted their advice. It was a bodybuilding site and I do a lot of muscle work.

    Carb cycling?

I've gained and lost too many times in the past 25 years (I'm 65) so it's harder and harder to lose. It just doesn't work well any more. I lost 5lbs in one week when I tried low carb/low cal before just to check it out.

    Carb cycling?

I would go overboard if I just tracked carbs and not calories as well. I tried this for a week before I went on a one month holiday I just returned from. I didn't feel hungry, even when I was at 1200 calories with the high fat and low carbs. Just started again this last Saturday and so far so...

    Carb cycling?

I'm new to low carb as I've always done low cal and low fat. I'm finding that doesn't really work any more. On low cal I was on 1200-1300 cals per day and would always have one day per week at about 1800 cals so my body wouldn't think that was all I needed. I'm now on 50-60g of carbs per...

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Thanks. I've been using a spreadsheet to track calories for about 5 or 6 years and I prefer this method. I'm now using one to calculate calories + carbs. I looked for the Friday weigh in thread but can't seem to find it.

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Not diabetic, but am on low carb for weight loss. I know two people who were previously type 2 and they no longer need meds because of a low carb diet for diabetics. They also lost a ton of weight. Hope it's okay to join in here. B: plain soy yogurt w/fresh strawberries and stevia, tea...

Introduce Yourself: Answer Some Personal Questions

Not diabetic or pre-diabetic (although afraid I could become if I don't behave better). I am 65 and have been retired for 10 years. I am consistent about working out, however I gain/lose/gain/lose far too much (due to frequent travel). I joined this forum because I am going healthy low carb...
