Freestyle Libre 30-50 points low recurring problem

If you are on android, download xdrip+ or for iOS download Spike. I use xdrip+ instead of the libre app because I can calibrate it against my blood sugar and make it so much more accurate. Same kind of thing as EllieM suggested but you don't have to buy the miaomiao to do it!

    Unexplained hypos

Hi Juicyj, Ah that makes sense thank you! I will make basal checking a priority.

    Unexplained hypos

Hi novorapidboi26, More recently I have been stopping insulin all together, with a 0 percent basal for 30 minutes to an hour. I have also tried 50 percent for 3 hours, which I have extended when blood sugars still aren't coming up! You are right that it must be to do with insulin. But the...

    Unexplained hypos

Hi Juicyj, I have tried 6 times to do basal tests in the last couple of weeks. Each time I either can't start as I'm hypo or I have to quit an hour or two in as I'm hypo. Even when I've started at 12.9 I've gone hypo within an hour or two of starting! I wrote this post whilst hypo (my 5th in...

    Unexplained hypos

Hi all, Does anyone have experience with frequent hypos that don't respond well to sugar for apparently no reason? I'm on a Medtronic 640g pump. I moved to Fiasp 6 months ago and all was going great until a month ago. Since then I've been on a rollercoaster and haven't been able to get off. I...

Will a diabetes clinical psychologist help?

Ah thank you! I will look into counselling instead of the psychologist. Will any do or are there diabetic specialist ones?

Will a diabetes clinical psychologist help?

Hi all. My diabetic control is ok but could be better. I don't avoid sugar as much as I should- I have been diabetic so long now I think I'm a bit burnt out. When I was young I was extremely on it and focused. Since then, I said to myself that if I get signs of complications that would be the...

    Dexcom G6

Thank you :) I tried to look but it said your profile is limited in who can see it- I probably didn't look properly though! (Edited for grammar)

    Ah thank you!

    Dexcom G6

Please can I ask what pump you are on? I have just got a self funded trial of the G6 and was thinking of trying an open loop to help me with decisions. I would be interested in one day looping but my current pump isn't loopable and I'm really worried about losing funding if I don't use what they...

    Caused lasting damage?

I had eaten a lot or carbs (I'm trying to stop but sleep deprivation lead me there...) so I didn't detect it was more than a very bad carb guess for far too long! I will definitely take your advice in future and change my tubing the second I realise I'm not coming down. Thank you!

    Caused lasting damage?

Last night my blood sugar would not come down and was extremely high. I was testing and injecting every half an hour to an hour. I changed my insulin site and insulin. I was monitoring ketones throughout, which went from 0.9 to 1.8 and then started reducing again at 1.5. Because the ketones were...

    Coffee

Well today my blood sugar didn't rise at all from my coffee, and then stayed great all day. I give up trying to predict what is going to happen when it changes daily!

Ah that's that theory out the window then!

    Coffee

Thank you all for your inputs! I wonder if there is a relationship between not eating breakfast and having a coffee spike? I don't eat breakfast, I just have my coffee in the morning. I have played around with skipping coffee- I don't spike, black coffee and coffee with full fat milk -both of...

    Coffee

Has anyone worked out a decent strategy to deal with the effect of coffee on blood sugar? It doesn't appear to matter if it is with or without milk, and the effect on my blood sugar varies completely so I would rather avoid giving insulin for it if possible! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Apologies, my notifications don't appear to be working properly! I think that is a great idea. Looking at the progress people have made making a closed loop system as a community in a relatively short amount of time is outstanding. An international collaborative team with far more resources has...
