    Mental and physical paradox

I'd say getting used to low carbs tbh. When I've done it in the past (out of control at the moment) I had serious fatigue and brain fog at times and plenty of energy at others. It is a weird one. However perseverance was the key for me and careful monitoring of your sugars. Running lowered my...

    Type 2 Medication

Biggest difference will be diet, check out the low carb diet here on diabetes.co.uk. Excercise, walking, running, cycling, whatever you can manage. I am currently off the wagon, but have been successful in the past with obtaining decent control and sugars between 4-7. Currently trying to get...

Have you been told not to test your blood sugars?

They always tell me not to test and don't want me to have test strips. I'm currently permanently high and out of control. I did manage to get under control with low carb diet and excercise, but for one reason or another have lost control for a few years now. Anyway back to subject, I found...

    Cycling on type. 2

I don't do low carb high fat. But I do prepare for that distance in a hilly area of Wales with sausage egg and beans or similar. High blood sugars will leave you feeling fatigued and not performing well from my experience. I bring a peanut bar or two with me and blood monitoring kit. I'm lucky...

Swimming cycling running helps. What ever you can manage in that department is awesome [emoji16] Good luck keep going [emoji3]

Cunning plan, or crazy idea? Fast to get glucose down

When I was diagnosed I went no carb for a month which I found great. Dropped my sugars lovely and then I gently experimented with carbs. I still eat less carbs than I used to and generally less than I used to as I'd binge at night and I don't now. My bloods are always in limit. I personally...

    Poor GP support?

My experience of gp support so far is erm ****. Here have 2g a day of metformin we'll see you in April maybe. I was diagnosed September. I moaned like buggery and got a monitor. Took 2 months of nagging. They were not happy to give one but monitoring is essential I think as I know now what...

    Just diagnosed and feeling depressed

I'm prone to depression and anxiety too. I presume anxiety may come into play for you as they often go hand in hand. I reframed my thinking re diabetes when diagnosed. Looked at the positives. I know now. I have the opportunity to control it. Rather than it control me which in turn means I may...
