    Managing exercise and insulin

I find the same (albeit with Badminton). Initially BG drops, then after about 40 mins my body decides it's high intensity and BG goes up. I usually drop out and go for a walk. Seems your strategy of mixing squat rack and treadmill is the way to go. Nice approach!

Professional Options unlock code for Freestyle Libre

Thanks! I had wanted to to set my reader to half units for a long time - all sorted. The code works on the original Libre 1 reader and also on the newer Libre 2 reader.

    Cholesterol 101 Needed

I would encourage everyone to read "The Great Cholesterol Con" by Dr Malcolm Kendrick. ISBN 1844546101 Very readable. He lightens a potentially dull subject by peppering it with humour. He shows with authority how the research results have, for decades, been selectively presented, and debunks...

    Managing exercise and insulin

I've just been confirmed as T1 (LADA) rather than the T2 my GP/DSN thought. (I've been on insulin since early 2017). I picked up this thread as I've been having big challenges with aerobic exercise causing rapid BG drops (starting from around the end of 2017). I can totally relate to...

    Dawn dump

I take one or two units of Novorapid as soon as I get up to sort out the "foot on the floor" rise, then get out and do 10 mins walk come rain or shine. If I don't bolus and walk I'll be up to about 12mmol in the 45 mins or so before breakfast. I did try a small dose of carbs (5-10g using milk)...

Some advice on BG readings overnight while asleep

I use Libre and initially I found a short dip as you describe around 3am where BG dropped to about 4, but then recovered fairly quickly as the body kicked in - not as "lively" as your recovery, though. (I've not found any effect from lying on my sensor, yet!) I then found was that if I took a...

    Is my BG control OK?

Thanks Slip As luck would have it, I signed up to a project at Bristol University where they want volunteers to use continuous monitoring for one week and compare it with the food intake and activity. I'll be a guinea pig back end of next month - so it will be a great opportunity to find out...

    Is my BG control OK?

Many thanks for your thoughts/comment. There's no change in my diet from when it spiralled out of control to now, so that's not a factor. I don't do LCHF (i tried it for a while a few years back). I just eat a sensible balanced "normal" diet, but avoiding things which spike BG, and dose for...

    Is my BG control OK?

First time poster here.... At my Diabetic review last week, I was told I was running my BG too low for the past three months (HbA1c 5.5%). I'm not so sure and would appreciate views on this. I've been T2 since 2007, and started insulin (Levemir and Novorapid) in Feb this year after my BG...
