Thanks, I am seeing better blood results already taking 4 units less of tresiba. I sleep much better but am struggling to wake up. Is this common?

    Injection site damage

haha I've got my local MP involved and lo and behold I get appointments through within a week. I was never aware that I had any problems until the other health issues appeared as my bloods always came back good. To be honest he has been a good doctor with the other issues I have had (mental...

Fear my company are starting to build up case for eventual dismissal

I don't think they can dismiss you, if you check the government website it classes Diabetes as a disability, I am currently going through a similar situation although I have been off now since end of April. You may want to look into it on the government pages and go a bit deeper and possibly...

    Injection site damage

To be honest I have never spoken of my diabetes before, i've never had reason. I just brushed it under the carpet and because my bloods always come back okay I just thought everyone must go through the same thing so I'll just suck it up and get on with it. It's only recently that things have...

    Injection site damage

I take Novorapid and Lantus. I've been through the same routine again this morning and bloods are around 9 now so starting to feel a little more human. I spoke to the endochrinologist who is also the diabetes specialist and it was him who suggested it was the injection sites. He was seeing me...

The Fallacy of Average: How Using HbA1c Alone to Assess Glycemic Control Can Be Misleading

Does arteriosclerosis cause a low heart rate? I used to run around 75 bpm when I was fit, now I am resting at around 52 bpm, could this be linked?

yeah its been hard, and no I don't change the needle every time, I use same needle until the bottle is empty, always have done, when I got the pen they said that was fine. The pump means less jabs and less faffing about, I get through a bottle of test strips in 3 days checking my blood. Work...

    Injection site damage

yep that's the right word I think, I've used all available sites now and they are all lumpy as hell. I keep trying to work around them, left and right a bit but nothing is working, I'll just have to wait and hope they can sort it out in December

    Injection site damage

HbA1c is around 8 I think last time, I don't have any complications apart from a bit of retinopathy and possible links to mental illness (under investigation) I've been blundering on for years like this, always brushed it under the carpet and got on with it but age has finally caught up with me...

    Injection site damage

Not been given any reasons, we don't have any diabetes specialist in this town, I've been waiting nearly 10 years to see one, because my hba1c always comes back good the doc didn't see the need to send me to the specialist

The Fallacy of Average: How Using HbA1c Alone to Assess Glycemic Control Can Be Misleading

I always get a good result on the Hba1c, however this no way shows what my control is like. Starts off the day at 6, rises to around 25, sits there for a few hours then drops over the rest of the day, first 4-5 hours of everyday are hell.

I've been type 1 since december 89. Nearly 30 years. My injection sites have had it. Back in the day we had big needles and the research was in its infancy.
