    I really wish they could all make a decision, HbAc1 is usually between 41 - 44, the GP surgery congratulate me, the consultant says get it up to 47. I don't have loads of hypo's. Fasting works best for me

    Please please work on getting it in control. Due to a wrong diagnosis I ended up in hospital for 2 weeks on drips, pumps and heart monitor with DKA. When discharged I was almost blind, had lost feeling in one lower leg and foot and could hardly stand unaided. Its taken18 months to get better...

    I too smoked 20+ a day and really didn't want to give up but finances forced it. I started by trying to cut down like you but it just didn't work. Eventually I just didn't buy any cigs, it was tough but I am now 5 years ciggy free but I still vape. Good Luck

    I found even the no added sugar instant porridges not only expensive but always spiked me. If you put ordinary oats in water in the fridge over night you just need to heat them up in the microwave next morning add a dessert spoonful of double cream and some blueberries. Cheap and lush

    Taking wrong insulin

    When I was first diagnosed I took a dose of abasaglar with my evening meal instead of apidra. Called 111 who advised an alarm set for 2am to check my bloods. They were a little low but all was fine

    I had similar issues at first. Type 2 diagnosis but slim and fit? After 2 weeks of daily blood tests and 8 BGL's a day,, scans etc they decided that I was type 1. Genetics. Now they and more importantly I feel that we have this ****** under control, well usually!!!

    While it is important to listen to your consultant it's even more important t o question them. As an adult you choose what meds you take but you can only do that with lots of information. Gone are the days when you just do what the doctor says.
