    We have been testing his ketones and they have been 0.1 so ok. I have spoken to the nurse and she says that it may be because he has a cough or it may be his honeymoon period coming to an end.     Thanks for responses. He does seem to have had a slight growth spurt plus he may have an infection. I will try and speak to a nurse tomorrow. I don't want to over react thats why I thought I would ask for advice from people on the forum.

    Thanks for all the replies. As my son is newly diagnosed we are not calculating insulin doses yet. This is why we are being careful. Will look at the weight watchers ones when I next go shopping. Thanks again for the help
