    Feeling disappointed.

You’ve got from an average reading of 9.2mmol to an average score of 8.2mmol. Not bad at all when you look at it like that

No chance of been able to push for the Medtronic 780G instead?

    Time frames - how long?

@SJT1D, Sounds exactly like what happened with me. I didn't get offered a list of pumps or even told I was getting the cgm until I asked. They literally just said your getting the Medtronic 780g. So, the 780G is absolutely fantastic. If you search this forum I have done a few reviews on it. My...

    Cgm's and insulin pumps

Doesn’t bother me at all, I have the Medtronic 780G attached to me which as a tubed pump & then the guardian 3 cgm which is quite large for a cgm. I wouldn’t be without it to be honest,

    Choosing a pump

Hi @SKB_9, I’m a new pumper myself. I started on the 7th of January this year. I was granted funding for a pump & a Cgm for a closed loop system so I went with the Medtronic 780G with there Guardian 3 CGM. For me having a closed loop system was a no brainer. I’m quite active, go to the gym 6...

    Time frames - how long?

I moved over to a pump + cgm closed loop System in January. I’m using the Medtronic 780G with the guardian 3 CGM. It roughly took me 2 month from being accepted to starting my training. I was told they would fund/approve the pump in early November & my pump training date was the 7th of January...

Did I faint or am I just clumsy?

From what you've said you could of lost consciousness. Ive had a few diabetic comas & on every occasion I've chewed huge lumps from my tongue. I had pools of blood both times but that's because I banged my head when I dropped. As for the memory loss that's something that always happened with me...

Diabetic coma or just low blood sugar during sleep?

I’ve had a couple diabetic comas in my time, every time I’ve had one I’ve literally chewed parts of my tongue off & usually woke up in a puddle of blood off where I’ve smashed my head. Pretty impossible for us to say if you’ve had one or not really. I’m guessing you have no visible injuries?

    Pfizer Jab causing Insulin Resistance?

Reading all these comments makes me wonder about getting the 2nd vaccine, Its been 5-6 weeks since my first & my insulin resistance is still shocking compared to be before. Ive seen different views, some say the effects of the second aren't as bad as the first. Ive also seen others say if you...

    Pfizer Jab causing Insulin Resistance?

@StewM, So that’s definitely two of us that have seen massive insulin resistance after the vaccine. 3 if you include the OP. With this in mind will you be getting your second dose? My insulin resistance change was just about manageable but I had to massively increase how active I was after each...

    Pfizer Jab causing Insulin Resistance?

Wow! This is something I hadn't thought about at all but I had my first Pfizer injection around 4-5 weeks ago & my insulin resistance has also become a nightmare. Correction doses seem to be non existent, didn't matter how much I took nothing would bring me back into range. Ive been needing to...

Got given a few options - any advice?

Agree with what others have said, go down your own route & try low carb. You can still have really filling & tasty meals without carbs, a simple option is to swap rice for cauliflower rice for instances. Maybe have a look into Keto diets, not something I've tried but the meals look really nice...

    Pizza

Personally if I saw a rise to 9.8mmol after a pizza & that was the highest my BG went to I would be absolutely over the moon. I can't eat a pizza without saying readings of at least 14/15mmol 6hrs after eating, doesnt matter what I do I just cant control it. Unfortunately its just something...

No idea what I'm doing - advice needed!

Hi Katie, ask as many questions as you want. For me I need to bolus atleast 20 minutes before breakfast, lunch & dinner 10/15 minutes is normally enough. On spikes, it can vary between what foods im eating. If for instances I’m having 200g of chicken with 200g of white rice I’ll stay pretty...

    Easier and trickier carbs

Personally I don’t split bolus for any carbs. Pasta is simply enough for me, weigh it out so you know the exact carb amount.

No idea what I'm doing - advice needed!

It’s actually crazy how much protein can affect your BG. I decided to give low carb a go starting last Monday & my bloods where literally all over the place. I went from eating 200g of carbs a day to around 35G, my time in target while eating carbs was between 95-100% with an average BG of...

    Easier and trickier carbs

I don’t particularly struggle with any carb, pizza is definitely the trickiest but I usually try to be really precise on carb counting for it. I’ll still see a spike but nothing crazy. The easiest carbs for me are rice, sweet potato, white potato & oats. I can eat any amount of them any time...

Whey protein - good or bad for type 1

Hi Nick, as someone who attends the gym 6 days a week weight training I consume a lot of whey protein. Minimum 3 shakes a day, if I’m having oats for breakfast I’ll also have a scoop mixed in with my oats. Most whey’s are basically carb free so you won’t need to take insulin for them. Now to...
