Diabetic Eye Screening Feeling Sick With Headache

It appears I have an allergy to the drops, I've seen opticians since I was about 12, have all the regular tests, drops in eyes and all good, but yesterdays drops really didn't like me. Literally within a few minutes of having the drops I thought I was going to be sick and then the headache hit...

Diabetic Eye Screening Feeling Sick With Headache

Thank you everyone for your support. I have to admit to being pretty scared on waking to find headache still there, pressure in eyes and my right eye pupil & vision still hadn't returned to "normal". I managed to book an emergency appointment with what turned out to be a optician who had a...

Diabetic Eye Screening Feeling Sick With Headache

I've made an appointment at an opticians, I've also spoken to the Diabetic Eye Screening person who said it is rare to have such a bad reaction and it could be an allergy to the drops or could have increased pressure in my eyes. My eyes feel like they are under strain/pressure. I'm just hoping...

Diabetic Eye Screening Feeling Sick With Headache

Woken at 5am by a circling helicopter. I still have the odd pressure headache that I went to bed with. Both eyes feel like they have eye strain and pressure in them. Yesterday my right eye pupil didn’t appear to go back to normal size. My right eye still seems slightly blurry and I might be...

Diabetic Eye Screening Feeling Sick With Headache

Today I had the Diabetic Eye Screening Test and I wasn't expecting the side effects I'm experiencing. Struggling to see computer screen and pain in eyes. Within minutes of having the drops put in my eyes (my goodness I wasn't expecting the drops to hurt so much) I developed a headache and...

    Hba1c Has Increased!

Ah I wasn't aware that proteins could convert to sugars! I have been going for protein to eat if hungry (nuts / cold chicken / sausage etc) will keep an eye on that too.

    Hba1c Has Increased!

Thank you for that, I wasn't aware that numbers were rounded up and down so that helps. I was pretty low carb (due to endometriosis) pre diagnosis, but never lost any weight, so it's thanks to the Metformin as I've only tweaked my diet to remove potatoes, rice (only used to have a spoonful at...

    Hba1c Has Increased!

Wonder if anyone with more experience than me can shed any light on why my HbA1c has increased from 40 three months ago to 41? I was diagnosed with Type2 Diabetes Xmas 2017, reading was 55, in 3 months I decreased the HbA1c to 40 and to date I have lost 2st thanks to being on 500mg of...

    Have I reversed my Diabetes?

I'm planning on continuing to see if I can reduce it further, I've always been pretty careful about what I ate due to Edno flare ups if I ate wheat or cheese, and I'm happy being low carb as it's working. As mentioned if I could quit these hormone tablets then that would help as they are known...

    Have I reversed my Diabetes?

Thank you too, and you are right. I have dropped two jean sizes and can pull my current jeans down without undoing the zip/button. I've fought Endo for most of my life and as I'm 50 this year I'm willing the menopause and to be rid of the source that causes so much pain. It's so nice to hear...

    Have I reversed my Diabetes?

I'm going to see if I can get number lower, but I do struggle with Endometriosis medication which causes weight gain, I'm desperate to lose more weight as I think my diet is pretty spot on, it's the frustration of not seeing the lbs go that get's me.

    Have I reversed my Diabetes?

I had the results of my HbA1c today which was 40, am I correct in thinking that this is in the "normal" range? I was diagnosed 2 days before Xmas 2017 with a HbA1c count of 55, I have gone very low carb but didn't expect a result of 40 in just 3 months. So am I still classed as diabetic or...

Dukan Diet v Low Carb Diet - which is best?

I'm determined to lose weight, due to the hormone tablets I've struggled and I've lost half a stone but stopped, so want to try and keep the loss going as I'm guessing the metformin (500g a day) is helping.

Dukan Diet v Low Carb Diet - which is best?

I have the following: Breakfast (Every Day) Pint warm water with juice of half lemon & grated fresh ginger (an acquired taste!) 1 level desert spoon of oats 2 heaped desert spoons of Greek Yoghurt (full fat) 1/2 level desert spoon of flaxseeds approx 1tsp of ground almonds (bloods test approx...

Dukan Diet v Low Carb Diet - which is best?

Before being diagnosed I was already on a pretty low carb diet due to having endometriosis and the hormone treatment made me put on 3.5 stones in about 3 months. So to keep weight stable and as I can't eat wheat I've gone down the low carb route. So since being diagnosed with Type 2 I've lost...

Advice, high breakfast blood glucose readings which used to be low

Thank you so much, I think testing in morning first thing then before breakfast (and trying to change breakfast) should give me a better insight. This forum is great, I had no help from the diabetic nurse, so hence help from others is greatly appreciated.
