Covid 19 - are we in high risk?

Unless I've missed it, diabetes seems to have gone off the high risk list?

Covid 19 - are we in high risk?

I don't work regularly - this is a one-off voluntary thing for a kid's practical musical exam and I'm sure my GP has enough on his plate at the moment. I thought here was a more sensible place to ask. I've now made contact with the school explaining my position but without actually saying that...

Covid 19 - are we in high risk?

I'm a musician, most of my concerts have been cancelled but I'm still required to go into a school this week to play for an exam. I don't want to give backword but I'm wondering if I'm being stupid and should cancel.

Low Carb Seems To Be Working

Just another vote for the low carb diet - the first thing that has given me any hope. Yesterday at my first diabetic review since starting cutting out carbs only a couple of months ago Glimeperide was taken off my list of medications. My HbA1C had dropped from the high fifties to 45 and I had...

    Low carbs - remission?

I'm not following any particular diet - I've simply stopped eating bread, potatoes and rice (I used to eat a lot of all of these). So far I've lost a stone without really trying. All my recent blood tests have been lower. I have my HbA1c blood test next week - it will be interesting to see...

    Low carbs - remission?

There's a lot about going low carb in the news. What exactly does this mean? Does it mean that the diabetes is actually reversed and you can go back to eating "normally" again or does it simply mean that the diabetes is still there but is controlled only by diet?

    Shock this morning

By the way, I received notifications for the first couple of replies to my question but not the later ones so I didn't know there had been more replies. Sorry for not responding and thank you.

    Shock this morning

Update: Before my midday meal I was feeling a little hypo so I did a blood test (at 12.07pm) - 9.6, which, again, was a bit of a shock. I had my meal and about 30 minutes afterwards did another blood test (at 13.21pm) - 7.4 I always wash my hands before doing a test and I'm beginning to wonder...

    Shock this morning

Hi, I've been off carbs for about a fortnight (and have lost weight as a side effect) but haven't been testing my blood very often - when I have it's been normal, around 5-6.2. (Type 2: Metformin, Glimeperide). This morning before breakfast I was shocked to find a reading of 7.6 - I'd...

    interrupting low carb diet

Thanks. to be honest, it's the restaurants and pubs that worry me more. It's the first time my friends have visited England and are keen to experience English life, not diabetic English life. I'll use a degree of common sense but I wasn't sure if a mild increase in the carbs would spoil the...

    interrupting low carb diet

Possibly a daft question here: I've just started following a low carb diet in an attempt to possibly reverse my type 2 diabetes. I have no problem staying off carbs. In April some friends are coming to stay for a week. I can't really insist on them following the same diet, nor do I wish to...
