    Hot Weather Issues!

I used to do that too, until I looked at Libre data and thought it was strange how I always woke up hypo regardless of how high it was before bed. So I brought it up with my DN and we came to the conclusion that I should try splitting it up, likely a 5/15 from my previous 20, and things improved...

    Hot Weather Issues!

This sounds like an issue with basal to me. Are you taking one big dose in the evening?

Would appreciate a bit less heat here in London too, been sweating my b***s off for like 2 weeks straight.

    Someone To Talk To

I was on Lantus once a day since diagnosis until earlier this year when I switched to split dose Levemir and I've had huge improvements since, overnight hypos and hypers becoming the exception rather than the norm.

One of the problems, if not the problem, is that there is no open standard, every project will do its own thing and every device will have its own way of doing things so it's a mammoth task to get one project(most notably xDrip) to work with multiple devices. The actual medical stuff is pretty...

Was on the phone with a recruiter just now chatting briefly about this very thing interestingly enough. :) Yeah as you will have read I was interested in a Pebble, or something better, but have yet to make the jump. The problem I have with the current available apps is that they don't do enough...

That's so obvious I can't believe I didn't think of that, goes to show what I'm missing out on by hating apps and phones in general. I'm more of a terminal and servers kind of guy. ;)

As long as she(?) takes it seriously and helps you out, that's a good attitude to have, laughing at(or with in this case) yourself is a good quality to have.

I'm gonna guess it's low so you should go grab yourself some delicious snack and get it back up.

I would usually prefer overdoing it and correct a hypo with a banana or something rather than doing multiple smaller injections trying to get it down.

That makes sense, I think we've all been there. Don't think I've ever done that many in a day though. :)

You're still stacking a ton of units that way though if you're injecting that often, there must be better ways(not counting a pump) of managing it, like how wine somehow manages to be that magic bullet of not causing hypos and also not spiking it.

Why so many? Easier to give yourself fewer but more units per, no?

How Has Your Life Changed Since Being Diagnosed ?

I was 14 when diagnosed so there were plenty of changes at the time even without that condition of ours. Hard to say what changed really, to me it's more of a what could have been if it wasn't for diabetes screwing everything up, causing all those periods of depression and everything. Edited by...

    World Cup Snacks

It was of an answer for the liquorice suggestion than a general snack answer. I don't care about carbs personally, I can simply bolus for it.

It sure is, and unfortunately common due to the pharmaceutical industry notoriously overcharging customers, and by extension the tax payer. We as diabetics are just in deeper **** than others as our lives are dependent on them, not just our quality of life. I can't wait for the day when the open...

That's basically the complete opposite of what it logically should be if conserving resources was the point since if you can manage well enough without it you demonstrably don't really need it. At least that's how I view it.

    World Cup Snacks

If you're daring and in the London area, you can get yourself some proper liquorice rather than the nonsense sold by UK supermarkets at https://www.totallyswedish.com/en/webshop/food/sweets-snacks ;)

So is getting a pump difficult with the NHS then? I've been offered one(not from the NHS) multiple times but always turned it down because I don't want to have to wear stuff and it getting in the way and everything, but there was never any mention of having to fulfil any criteria or anything...
