    Empagliflozin/Jardiance and Metformin

I've been on empag for three months now 10mg plus 2g of Metformin - this combination has brought my a1c down to 46 and has made me and my diabetic nurse quite happy. Took a couple of weeks to get used to it and am staying deliberately well hydrated but impressed with how it has worked for me.

    Shakes Recommendation

I've used huel on and off and it seems to be very good if a little bland flavour wise. You can of course flavour it but be careful not to add more carbs with the flavouring.

    A Good Day

A1c just came back at 44, was 68 at diagnosis three months ago! Been following the knowledge and advice on here and found it very encouraging and useful. Lost 10kg in that time as well, lots more to go!

When Vets Have More Of A Clue Than Doctors...

Raw food for our German Shepherds. Best thing possible, reduces "output" and keeps the dog healthy. We give them frozen chicken wings as snacks! To be fair I think they get a better diet than the humans in the household.

Pondering: Does Metformin aid weightloss by ensuring that what you eat leaves your body as quickly as possible???

    Diabetes review at new practice

My GP refuses to accept my own BP readings, despite the fact that on record I have white coat hypertension and due to long term issues I have severe needle phobia and vaso vagal reaction to needle procedures, so he checked my blood pressure at our last meeting just after saying he needed more...

Reasonably consistent 12-14 in a morning before eating, 16 two hours after breakfast. Lowest in last month was 7.9 after a one hour bike ride. Will start regular scheduled testing today.

Thanks. Already bought the codefree so will be looking at a testing regime. Been testing on and off over the last few weeks to try and overcome my phobia definitely getting there. Already made diet improvements and getting back on the bike.

Well it's been a while since my initial post, but I'm starting Metformin tomorrow. Doctor wanted to repeat the blood tests, a1c is 68. So it's time to play the numbers game!

I've been doing some good things for the last year - took up cycling (went from being unable to cycle around the block last april to cycling to Amsterdam in october!) and this year I've dropped the fast food (I travel a lot, McDonalds seemed like my friend) and am using Huel as a convenience...

So - I'm 45, 140kg and 180cm. Went to see the doctor due to a navel infection last week and got antibiotics and referred for blood tests to check for diabetes. While waiting I used a friends blood glucose meter to do a quick couple of checks - 16mmol/l two hours after lunch, 12mmol first thing...
