Approved Are current technological solutions adequate to help diabetics manage their blood sugar levels?

Thanks for all the responses, the data is starting to form a good shape however I still need more people to fill it in. Please ask anyone you know who is diabetic to complete the questionnaire. Thanks again in advance.

Approved Are current technological solutions adequate to help diabetics manage their blood sugar levels?

I am currently a student looking in to how technology helps diabetics manage their blood sugar levels. I am focusing on which mobile applications my fellow diabetics use to help them and looking at if there are any better solutions to make diabetics day to day lives easier. If you could spare...

Hey guys, I've been type one for about a year now. Loving the ups and downs that come with it :/ I have just had a weird experience where I've had a hypo 3.4. But been having a bad day with taking my insulin. So I had about 50g of carbs with tea at about 6pm but had no insulin other than my...

Yeah that's the page I was reading. They use an average of 10 hours a week for recovering from hypos so I was wondering who actually has 10 hypos a week.

So Is it taking below 5 as a hypo for the average?

Just been reading the averages of the numbers from the diadigits. 10 hypos a week, is anyone actually getting close to this? And for it to be an average that must mean some are having much more. I'm really interested now to see how many people are having.

Ok thanks, they confuse me so much. 'Your results are too low but you have room for tighter control'. They also said they will put me on a trial for a libre. Is it worth it or would I just end up becoming consumed by numbers. You know as I'm apparently doing too well at being diabetic lol.

Just had an appointment at the diabetes clinic. Hba1c is down to 46 from 131. I was diagnosed 4 months ago. I left feeling confused as she said it was too low. I thought the goal was to get it as close to non diabetic range as possible? Anyone else had this?

You can ring 111 for an emergency prescription. Lay it on a bit thick and say you don't have any at all.

Went to bed last night on 6.9. Finally managed to end yesterday on a stable level. Woke up 5.4 same again 30g of carbs for breakfast 3 units of apidra into a hypo at about half 11. I think im going to stay off anything but porridge for breakfast, it seems to be the only thing that agrees with me...

Went to bed 6.1 woke on 5.7 was a nice start. 30g of carbs in breakfast 3 units of apidra, shot to 11.6 [emoji25]. A correction of 1 unit extra and into a hypo an hour later. Today is going to be one of them days.

My main one is are his doctors sure he was a T1. Wouldn't be unheard of for an incorrect diagnosis.

Do you know how much you drop for each unit. Base guide is 1 unit to drop 3mmol but mine's more 1 unit 1.8mmol drop. Everyone's different, it's finding the right balance for yourself. See how it goes if you keep getting hypos then definitely change the fast acting waking up at 5.7 sounds like...

Did you have anything to eat? I normally only take a morning correction if I'm over 6.5. This morning I woke on 7.7 took my Basel and 3 units of apidra. I had 20g of carbs in my porridge so 2 units for that 1 for a correction.

Same here, first time looking at this thread. I'm a fairly newly diagnosed T1, nearly 3 months in my needs for insulin are slowly rising. But I've got a decent grip on it. Went to bed on 6.4 woke up 6.2. I'd really love to know what they were through the night but guess I'll have to wait until...

Type 2 Why Did Bg Go Up?

It could also just be your BG meter. They have a tolerance of +/-10%. So if you was testing at 7.0 you can be anywhere from 6.3 - 7.7. So many things affect BG levels if you jumped form 7 to 9 then I'd be asking why but for 0.5 I'd not worry about it.

Do They Always Test For Lada?

It's like what I said everyone's journey to their diagnosis is different. My bloods at first we're in the high 20's and low 30's. 2 months in my average is about 6. I don't know much about type 2 in terms of control and meds. But different types have different things you can take as positives...
