Dear type 1 community.
I've had weird BG oscillations since the beginning of this year. I even switched from Lantus to Tresiba as my body stopped responding to Lantus but, after a few months, I realized that my BG shoots up (oscillates btw 10-16mql/ml) exactly 10 days before my period (and in...
13.4 and after 4 units of Novorapid and B'fast 11.4 I have had diabetes type 1 for over 4 years and it's still a mystery to me. Fist few years were much easier to handle my values but now I am just fed up.
Btw I did not eat since 18h last night and my sugar was 10 before going to bed... this...
I am trying to avoid the pump as long as possible, but will definitely take your advice to get the new FSL and go for a zero carbs basal testing day. Thank you.
Thank you for your reply. My meals are usually breakfast-oatmeal/Weetabix and lunch sandwich/salad with some bread 30-40 gr of carbs and dinner is my main meal 40-60gr. I do yoga after breakfast (40 mins) and go for a 30 mins walk for my break at work (sunny Malta). In summer the walk is out but...
I was diagnosed with type1 diabetes when I turned 40 (now I am 44). Nobody in my family has/had it. At first, I was told my pancreas was still active and I was taking very small doses. Then a very stressful 3 years came, I didn't take care as much as in beginning and I increased my doses (life...
I am taking lantus and novorapid. Regarding snacks, I stick to my schedule, but I feel like a hypo might be near I check and if I am close to 4.0 (4.1-3.9) I snack immediately.
Thanks! I am not on a low carb plan. I was eating like this since with this regime I didn't need any bolus for my meals and now I got use to this. Also, I am scared my bgl's will be even worse if I increase carbs. I will definitely check out the book!
Thank you! :)
I have been diagnosed with type 1 about a year ago. For 1st 6 months, my pancreas was still pumping insulin, I use to take just basal (8 units) in the morning. Also, I did a bit of stretching and walked to work and back every day and to be honest I took more care of what I eat than in the...
Dear Diabetes community, I need an advice on what to eat and what to stay away from on the (2 weeks, Radjastan) trip to India. I know basmati rice is good, but I would be very grateful if you can share your experience with me. Otherwise, I will end up eating only what I've already tried.
Thank...
Thank you JuicyJ for your reply. I am using only basal insulin, 8 units of Lantus and only once a month I go above 10 (never more than 12), so I didn't use bolus insulin for correction. Usually, I go walking/swimming 1/2h after the main meal (30-50 gr carbs). To be honest, I check my BG 1/2h...
