Yes infections can play havoc, When I left hospital last week my levels were under control. Just gone haywire again past few days, and taking correction doses and not working. Just had a call from the specialist team and they are at a loss. oh great.

Just got back from the gym, had a 1 hour hard work out weights and cardio, and tested after and hour and still 10.8. Only had chicken Salad for lunch so no carbs so did not take and insulin. Still not sure if I am type 2 on late onset 1. Surely my reading should be lower. Your thoughts please.

Thanks for advice so far, I have called the nurse and have taken 6 units, will allow longer before testing, I am on Novorapid too. Will keep an eye on ketones though, feeling a bit sick but probably something else

I have tested Ketones and is trace so that is ok, I have never taken so much insulin in one day, I was told fast acting takes 15 minutes is that correct and that 1 shot of insulin should bring level down by 3 except in my case does not seem to be working

Well been on insulin for over a week really struggling to get reading down. I am following guidance re carbs , I had a ready meal the other day so know exactly how many cards and still had a reading 18. Also how to manage snacks. Think this will take me a little time to get sorted.
