    School issues

If you think If you think a 5,6,7 year old is capable of doing that you must be living on another planet. Your original post made me so angry, you think my 6 year old son should be more responsible for his condition at school.... get real!

    School issues

Rubbish, a 7 year old should not be expected to give themselves their own injections. The teaching assistants should be trained by the hospital to do it.

    Freestyle Libre Reader Case

Because its so very light I've picked it up many times and it's just flown out of my grasp. We were thinking of giving it to the school to use so I wanted something to keep it in.

    What is your child’s HbA1c?

We also use the Aviva Expert. We also use the Libre which I think is fantastic, however, it's something to use alongside the Aviva Expert and is in no way a replacement. Very interesting about injecting 20 mins before eating, we've always been told not to do this. If she has a lowish blood...

    Freestyle Libre Reader Case

Hi, Can anyone recommend a case to hold the Libre reader in? The ones I've come across on-line seem to be really expensive. I'm looking for something that will just hold the reader and protect it, something like a tablet cover. Thanks

    What is your child’s HbA1c?

I think that's an incredible result. How does she manage that? Is she on a low carb diet?

    What is your child’s HbA1c?

Thank you. He was 3 years 3 months when diagnosed. The hospital paediatric team ask us to aim for an HbA1c of between 48-58. Is that the same for your son?

My 4 year old sons last HbA1c was 48 in September. It's actually been in the late 40's all year, which I've been very pleased about.

    You Tube Channels

I think one of the best You Tubers for Type 1 is a Canadian girl called Michelle Lord also, two English Type 1's, Nerdabetic and Jen Grieves. Worth checking out their channels but maybe not specifically relating to children.

    Hi Parents

They told us when he was in hospital that he would wake up in the night and tell us if he was hypo (feeling funny), I didn't quite believe that and still don't. Its a worry, but its also worrying if he spends all night high. But what do you do, you can't be checking him on the hour all night. I...

    Hi Parents

We use the Aviva Expert. We've just used a Freestyle Libre sensor this week for this first time and it stopped working this morning. It's only been on for 4 days. I'm waiting to hear back from Abbott. Do you check your son during the night? I do a last check at about 10.30ish and then depending...

    Freestyle Libre Tape

Hi Can anyone recommend some sort of tape to put over the Libre? My 4 year old son has very small arms and there's not a lot of space to play with. The sensor has only been on a few days and the edges have already come away from his skin. Thanks

    Hi Parents

Hi, My son was diagnosed last October at 3 years old, he's now just turned 4. It's very difficult at such a young age, he doesn't understand. He just goes with it and we're the ones who manage it for him.
