Not lost any weight yet !

Of course and, hopefully, the OP will pop back and feel encouraged. I do build muscle, or definition very quickly. However, I'm not the tallest and quite small framed...albeit with broad shoulders...so both muscle or fat show easily. Most kind on the suit...it's 3 now....seriously chuffed Have...

Not lost any weight yet !

No argument with this. In fact, I was about to post something along the same lines after just trying on two suits -which last fitted me when I was 1/2stone lighter and fit me perfectly now. Perhaps the OP is building leg muscle, which is no bad thing.

    Diabetics Neuropathy

Cheers, I appreciate the response. At times I would swap the pain for numbness to be fair. My feet have just started to kick off now, but it's not too bad and it's usually in the early evening until bed. Let's see what tomorrow brings but today has been a decent day.

Not lost any weight yet !

You mightn't be doing anything wrong. Perhaps your calorie input is meeting your calorie output? I'm on sub 800kcal a day very low to zero carbs and - if I'm being lazy- the weight remains constant, or barely moves. Try the "lose it" app and use it to log your calorie intake. My better half...

    Diabetics Neuropathy

Hi. This is really interesting. My bloods are now well within the 'normal' range again and, it seems that my horrendous pains ( claudication, fizzing feet, electric shocks) appear to be on the wane, or certainly more manageable. It's worth noting that I've been getting shocks all over my body...

Not sure if my GP has been listening to me...

.... back in this week. Foot pain quite constant now, though ( oddly) I've little problem sleeping with it. Whilst the Doppler tests etc suggest no claudication, the ankles don't half give me stick when stood still. The ache has, today anyway, totally replaced the nerve pain / fizzing and the...

    Neuropathy Garbage

An interesting thread... My pennyworth, According to many sources, DN is not reversible...there are plenty of sites with no obvious links to big pharma which say this, so why would they spout this unless it is believed to be true? Tonight, my feet are fizzing...the first time since Sunday...

" you've only had this one for a year", she said...with a bit of industrial language thrown in. :-)

Not sure if my GP has been listening to me...

Most kind.... Just had a consultation today went for my 'healthy legs' tests, as part of the establishing just what on earth is going on with my nerves etc. The good news...my legs ( and feet) are healthy. "Healthy for a diabetic?" I asked. "Yes, very much so" " how about for a none...

Not sure if my GP has been listening to me...

.... now my GP is listening to me. I had a consultation this morning with one of the senior partners. We've agreed the following... No statins for me for the short term. My total cholesterol was 6, so arguably high. However he is more concerned about my general wellbeing not that in...

SGLT2 inhibitors: updated advice on the risk of diabetic ketoacidosis

Apologies. I only used the first name of a man who's birth we may be celebrating in about a week and a bit.

Thank you and I will look at that now. Another 40 press ups and 10 mins on the stepper ( using a FITTCUBE) then 2 mins spinning on the bike. I sounded like a mating tortoise male...but I'm great ...today.

Not sure if my GP has been listening to me...

To follow up on this. Last week I struggled doing 5 press ups. And now, SIX are very easy Oh..and another 24 on top at a time. I'm utterly convinced that those ruddy statins screwed me up. Proving it, is another matter.

SGLT2 inhibitors: updated advice on the risk of diabetic ketoacidosis

So..after reading this ( genital gangrene, *****) , I won't be taking up the kind offer from my DN to have this muck inside me Now..let's have a look at sitagliptin :) Edited by mod for language

Not sure if my GP has been listening to me...

Had a long consultation with my DN yesterday. My bloods are all over the place at the minute, so we may bin the metformin and move to sitaglptin or canagliflozin. I've not done my research on these yet, so any thoughts are welcome. Urine was a bit cloudy and a bit sugary but that's not that...

Not sure if my GP has been listening to me...

I've spoken to the GP today who tends to specialise in these things. By describing my symptoms on the phone, he does agree that it's neuropathy and in all probability it is diabetic, even though my Nos have never been silly for long....though B12 etc are being considered. He's happy for me to...

On it tomorrow night at 7pm. Weirdly, when I go to bed it seems to lessen...which seems to be at odds with what I've read.

I've potted the statin and will be ringing the GP tomorrow. My 'bad' cholesterol was about 4.5. Agree with the statin and bloods They are still nigh on double where they were a week or so back.
