    Feeling awful after stopping Metformin

Hi, Great to hear that you are controlling your T2 so well, but sorry to hear the recent problems. I went through something very similar, though my BG levels didn't go so high. After my last checkup in Jan I reduced my metformin from 2000mg to 1000mg (4 down to 2 tablets) and felt really run...

    Loosing my way LCHF/Keto

Hi, Hang in there, it sounds like you are doing really well with your levels and weight! I am going through exactly the same thing, my weight has been creeping up over the last few days even though I am eating the same things in the same way. One of those things I guess, but it is demoralising...

Hello! I've just been diagnosed with T2 any advice welcome.

Hi, Welcome to the forums that have helped me get my Hba1c down from 143 to 37 in just over 6 months. Great to hear you have considered lchf and getting a meter, these were the two key things for me to start to get control. I remember after diagnosis that there was so much information it was...

Freestyle Libre reading ~2mmol/L lower then fingerpick constantly...

Hi, I started using the sensors in December, 3 so far, and each one has read something like 1.5 less than my finger pricks using the Libra app (android). The glimp app can be a little better because of its calibration but it still ends up a lot lower than the finger pricks if I don't keep...

Thank you all for the help

Hi, Thanks to all of the help and advice given so freely by you friendly lot, I have managed to get my hb1ac down from 143 (last July) to 37 (last week). It might take a bit longer to prove I can keep control of my T2, but its a great start. It has felt like a lifetime, with so many minor and...

3 different results. Which one should I log?

For me, it depends on what I was expecting. I sometimes get a really high, or really low result and test again because its not roughly what I was expecting and then ditch the one that didn't seem right. So in your case I would probably record the one in the middle, 6.9. Its really frustrating...

    Fasting bloods

Yes, sorry I was being a bit flippant saying flat line day :) It does go all over the place of its own accord, but now I have a sensor I have allowed myself to try a few different types of carbs and they are so roller coaster that it really helps me appreciate how much control low carbing has...

    Fasting bloods

Hi, Here is an example of what seems to be a fairly repeatable dawn phenomenon pattern for me on a very low carb day, all measured by a Libre sensor which seems to read 1.5 lower than my blood tests (so look at the relative changes rather than the actual numbers). I got up at about 6am, and had...

    Type 2 High blood pressure

Hi, I was diagnosed with hypertension at the same time as my diabetes (T2) diagnosis, and am on Ramipril (1x5mg a day). I think it is under control now. We suspect I have "white coat syndrome" where it reads high at the doctors but much closer to OK at home.

Newly Diagnosed - So Much To Take In

Hi Rusco, I was diagnosed T2 in August, and found it all very overwhelming, especially as there were so many opinions coming from so many people, web sites and leaflets given out by my GP. The first thing I did was try to take control by buying a test meter and measuring my fasting glucose...
